A couple of weeks ago, we heard about what Australians and Europeans would have to look forward to in their Street Fighter IV collector's editions. Today, Capcom laid out what bonus items will be packaged with the US package.
After getting feedback from fans after the Japanese box art emerged, Capcom has decided to take Chun-Li off the box and replace her with Ken and Ryu. A good decision, I feel. I like Chun-Li's magnificant gams as much as the next gentleman but, when I think of Street Fighter, I think of Ryu and Ken first and foremost.
Other changes have been implemented also. Instead of the pairing of Ryu and Viper figures (with a crowded Chinese street environment to put them in) our friends across the pond are getting, American buyers will only get one figure. Ryu and Viper appear in the PS3 and 360 versions, respectively. So, Sony is getting the icon while MS is getting the bewbs.
To make up for the lack of extra figurine, however, a soundtrack will come in the box for both consoles. And everyone is getting a mini-strategy guide plus a bonus disc with an 85-minute feature that describes the backstory to the new installment (Blu-Ray on PS3, a game disc with the video in 720p for 360).
So, how many of you are planning to pick up this edition?
Otherwise, meh I guess I want it.
Chun-Li woulda got me to pre-order though.
AKK, pick up the $150 SFIV tournament stick.
The box's design and cover of the game look good through :)
I don't want the figure OR the strategy guide. I'm still tempted by t.o.s. and the full length movie though.
Just another way Capcom can nickel and dime their customers a few months down the road like Namco did with Vader and Yoda. Fuck them.
*runs off to find a dual system arcade stick*
(oh yeah, I gots both a 360 and ps3)
@TurboHyperFighting: I've never played with the 360 d-pad, but I must say that the PS3 d-pad is not very good for fighters either. The disconnected directionals do not lend themselves to quarter circles. The only d-pad I've ever liked for fighters was the Dreamcast. I feel sorry for anyone trying to play SFIV on a d-pad. Get an arcade stick; it's a good investment

But first I need to know how much this is gonna cost.
Plus the D-Pad on the Sixaxis/DS3 is superior to the 360 - but I have an Arcade stick for 360. I'm so confused!
Also, I miss the Chun-Li box art.
I don't mind playing with an analog stick, so that doesn't bug me on 360. However, getting the Ryu and the feature on Blu-ray, instead of Viper (who gives a shit) and a 360-specific disc that only goes to 720p instead of 1080p...it really makes me question which version to get, when I'm sure a lot of my friends will be getting the 360 version.
Why wouldn't they go the obvious route and give Ryu to one system and Ken to the other? I'm a Ryu man myself, but I would have settled for Ken!
