Details and concept art for Prey 2 surface photo
     First Person Shooter

Ah, Prey. I remember hyping myself up for it, big time. After everything was said and done, I still enjoyed what the game had presented me with, despite its shortcomings. Sure, the little afterlife mini-game was cool at first, but it made Prey far too forgiving in the long run.

We've known a sequel to Prey was likely going to reveal itself at some point, and it looks as though that time has come. Shacknews has gotten a hold of a few tidbits about Prey 2, including the terribly small concept art below and a brief description of the game's plot:

"This time, abandoned and framed for the disappearance of his family, Tommy escapes an Earth that no longer wants him for a future that cannot survive without him."

I can only hope that the memorable aspects of Prey (walkable walls, gaping wall vaginas) make an appearance in the sequel, while the minor issues that plauged the original are addressed as well.

goddamnit Developer beat me to it.

Either way, I don't give a fuck about a sequel. The first one was a great game that was ruined by shitty mechanics. That death minigame turned the game into the world's biggest cake walk.

And did anybody laugh hysterically at the boss battle where he kills his girlfriend?

Girl torso flopping around on top of a monster shouting "I love you!" and "I'm sorry!" equals comedy gold.

yeah that fight is epic

The one thing I want improved in prey 2 is the weapons. The first games weapons were boring as hell. I want some interesting designs please.

To me, Prey was the biggest let down last year. It came out last year right? Whatever, it was the biggest let down of whatever year it came out in. There was sooooo much hype, then it just fell on its face due to it being an insanely easy so so FPS. I mean, there are so many good concepts in it, but it just failed to deliver. I loved it's "Hard" mode. All they did was take away health packs in a game where health doesn't mean shit hahaha.

I'm not at all interested. The game was just too generic. I got about two thirds through and stopped before I died from boredom. The entire game is basically not scary Doom 3 with crappy vehicle segments added on.

I really wish I could have been at the game design meeting when ANUS and VA-J-J's became "good idea's" for doors in video games. Its stupid! And you know damn well they knew it would turn out looking like that!

I liked it. Could have used some a bit more consequence for dying. That basically killed any challenge. But seeing how a sequal is coming out, it's a good start to work from.

I rented this a while back and although the gameplay got sorta tedious and it was highly linear, I thought the story was decent. Ya know, except for the whole dinosaur vagina thing that's been mentioned numerous times already. I definitely think it has potential story-wise, though.

Why do we have to play the saviour of the future? Why can't he be abducted (again) and this time, he is just out for what he can get... escape, maybe a little revenge, and plenty of alien tech you can flog on ebay when you get back to Earth?

I hate this "save the world" crap. I want to play grunts and regular people who are more interested in saving themselves.

I don't know about you guys, but Prey is my favorite Xbox 360 game to date. Sure, it had it's share of problems, but overall it was a brilliant and inventive experience. The storyline was very unique, as was the gameplay. It has interesting characters, creepy levels, and great graphics. I will be preordering Prey 2 the second I can. By far my most anticipated game. Bravo.

"Prey will continue..."

I liked Prey because it dared to do something different. It had many short-commings, the major one being...well not being able to die. Hopefully they release another demo, if they continue to push the envelope I will probably purchase it. FPS is so god damned lame boring and reptitive.

I enjoyed the first Prey and hope the sequel does well.

Holiday, the game was developed and produced by a bunch of old school guys who worked during a time when multiplayer was expected in every shooter no matter how simplistic. No, it wasn't earth-shattering stuff but it made for a fun quick 30 minute diversion if you had a little time on your hands.

@ holyetheline: yes, sorta
