Play Tropico, a very fun series.

Well except Tropico 2.

Still fun, but a different experience from the others.

Simcity 4 is in my all time top 10. Love that game. DO NOT make it 'more accessible' that's what that fucking abomination 'societies' was and it lost everything about Simcity that makes it so great.

I thought Societies was SimCity 5, I know it played less like the old SimCities but it was still a fun game. Oh well, GET HYPE!

It is possible to streamline w/o compromising what made the game good. Just look at Civilization: Revolution and Civ 5. Both trimmed the fat of IV while still being respectable titles in the franchise. I'm sure Maxis is capable of doing the same thing here.

I would love it if this game ends up being good and gets the series back on track after the societies debacle.

But I have to expect EA will probably make the PC version an Origin exclusive, and the other wrinkle is that Will Wright left the EA/Maxis fold back in '09, and I believe EA would be very tempted to simplify the game's mechanics to make it more accessible to the broadest audience possible. We'll see though. Prove me wrong, EA(though I know you won't).
