Destructoid writer's mother sends us a tip about Dead Rising Wii's combat system photo

[Editor's note: The following is a word-for-word reprinting of an email sent to our tips line by the mother of one of our writers. Names have been removed and appropriate links have been added, but otherwise the email remains unchanged. Family rules. So do zombies.]

Hello Destructoid, this is [redacted]'s mother. His computer is being naughty right now, so I'm sending you this news tip in his place. It's about a game called Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop. He told me that these videos are exciting because they show that this game will play less like a "Beat them up" and more like "Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition". But he also said that some man named Conrad already played this game, so I he would already know about it.

So why does he want me to send this tip to you if it's old news? What a strange boy!

Whenever I see someone comment with the phrase old news I'm immediately going to think; What a strange boy.
Excellent.

God damn it, I just saw a video with the cult members in the mall (later in the game) and there is still only about 20 zombies on screen and that counts the ones in the very far off distance of the mall. Seriously, the whole point about this game is being SURROUNDED by zombies. I'm convinced you could walk to one end of the mall and back in the very later stages of the game with out even being bothered by a zombie.

God damn it this game is shit.

Minor improvements in this remake title aren't going to make it that enjoyable when Capcom gutted most of the main features of the orignial version.

Anyway, Capcom shouldn't blame Wii owners if this Dead Rising remake doesn't sell.

Comparatively speaking, this version looks lame. But considering that there are very few third-person shooters of any kind on the Wii, this could still fill a niche for those who don't have a PS3/360. Frankly, I'd rather go back and play more No More Heroes. Considering the number of quality Wii titles that are expected in 2009, this game doesn't look like it's going to fare well against those others.

the problem is however, if this doesn't sell well like most of the other 'core-wii-games' and it keeps going like this with the core-wii-as-second-console-owners not buying the games made for them, eventually no more core-games will be made at all for the system...

@mistic:

Maybe, maybe not. There is no way to tell. Hopefully, 2009 will be the year that Wii developers get it through their thick skulls that many of us are tired of Waggle-ware and mini-games. If this title doesn't fare well, that doesn't mean that the other releases for this year will suffer the same fate.

Of course, it also doesn't help that these companies don't fscking advertise! I see XB360/PS3 game commercials regularly, but I don't think I've ever seen a commercial for anything Wii-related, except the console itself! How do they expect people to know that there are other games out there if they don't get it in people's faces? *sigh*
