Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

Destructoid.TV launches! 24/7 videos, trailers, and smut photo

Remember Cinematech?  It was a G4 show that played the latest trailers, cut-scenes, and commercials of upcoming video games (with a special segment on smutty Japanese games) with little or no commentary.  While these assets are now posted daily all over the web on sites like ours I miss being able to just leave it playing in the background while baking a turkey or having threesomes. With some help from Viddler we threw some duct tape together and decided to pay a little homage. The result is: www.destructoid.tv

What it is:  A site that allows you to watch all of our videos back-to-back, in full screen, without ever having to lift a finger.  You can move your mouse to the sides of the screen to skip ahead and resize the window to 480p HD, or 720p HD (when available).  The minimal interface also lets you drill down by console, all which contain hours of video.  If you'd like more control you can also browse by playlist.   Destructoid.TV also works on the PlayStation 3, but not the Wii (face!) so we'll work on fixing that.

In the coming days we'll also add channels for our video originals (Hey Ash, The Video Game Show, Video Reviews) as well as event coverage. We hope you like it -- let me know what you think!

Eh ... I saw it and wasn't too impressed, to be honest. There's a few genres of games that I enjoy trailers for, and I definitely do not want to see TVGSWID.

I support this, but I'm probably not gonna use it. Also, by the sound of it, you guys should add browsing features. There are some trailers, originals, reviews, etc. that certain people just don't care about. Let them find the stuff they want.

A channels interface, perhaps? I dunno, just kinda throwing ideas around.

Groovy. I like it. I clicked the "tv?" button earlier today, and it was pretty much the same as the "video" channel. I thought you guys were going loopy. Needless to say this is much better. I think I'll get plenty of use from it.

I miss G4 circa like 2003. When it was still about video games.

Man, I loved Cinematech. Just like you said, it was great to just let that show run in the background. I'll definately check this new feature out. Great idea, Niero.

Rad. I used to love Cinematech. Best show on G4 back when G4 was about games. I will keep my eye on this.

Awesome idea, so long as the cotton ad doesn't play after every video.
I'll check it out when I'm off work.

Perhaps, at some point, there can be a SFW channel for those of us who would like to work with it on, but I understand that it's a very subjective term, and might be hard to implement. Just a thought, though.

Destructoid is obviously biased against the 360 since they don't support this new feature on the Xbox! Oh wait, Microsoft is just biased against the internet.

In all seriousness, this is a neat idea. Kudos for trying new things and evolving the site.

Haven't tried it yet, but I was a big fan of "Cinematech in the background" while gaming back in the day. It was always kind of nice to suddenly hear a familiar cutscene from one of your favorite games and be able to watch it.

Cinematech was so awesome, the best part was the obscure japanese titles and the short clips of older games. Glad to see it will have japanese stuff but please throw in some retro.

Awesome. I will continue listening and sideviewing as I play Demon's souls. This is probably the video game equivalent of a DUI but hey, I like to push it to the limit.

Thx Niero. Dtoid will surely rule the universe some day.

I love the idea, but right now, after the first video finishes, I just get "Video Not Available" for any subsequent video I try to watch. Also, it's very choppy unless I go into full-screen mode (which is fine for me because I intend to keep it in full-screen mode, but still).

This site keeps getting better and better. I wish I had time to contribute somehow but at the moment my hands are full.

PLEASE DON'T FORGET THE WEIRD JAPANESE GAMES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was the best part of Cinematech, the old trailers for old games and Japanese trailers. The other stuff was meh, but the obscure stuff was what I lived for. That show is one of the main reasons I am a gamer and know more than many of my gaming peers.

Bleh, the ads after every single video ruin the whole experience to the point where it's useless and unbearable.

Also, playlist function.

That's the only way we can cover the bandwidth for HD, unfortunately. After you watch a couple the ads go away completely. I haven't seen a single ad today.

If so, no thanks.
