If you've learned anything about me during my last year here at the 'Toid, it's that I constantly fantasize about the inevitable zombie apocalypse. Between my root cellar stocked with canned foods and deadly projectile weapons to my three-story personal library full of reference material -- cue Max Brooks namedropping -- on the subject, I'd like to think I'm well prepared for the day when Hell is finally full and the dead once again roam the Earth.
However, I realize that not all of you share my passion for completely fictional scenarios, and honestly I don't want to have to pull your asses out of the fire when shambling corpses come a-knockin'. So, with the help of my new BFF Dan Marshall, I present to you the culmination of his life's work, the above film: How To Survive A Zombie Apocalypse.
We do what we must because we can.
Leigh Alexander: PORTAL. The end.
Oh yeah, and Dawn of Sorrow, Innocent Life, Symphony of the Night, Sonic 2, and the text adventures of the 2007 Interactive Fiction Competition.
Nex: Aside from finishing Portal (greatest ending ever) and Episode 2 (greatest ending since Portal), Team Fortress 2 has taken over my life. The first online game I was ever massively addicted to was Team Fortress Classic, and the art style and additions made to TF2 easily make it the finest multiplayer FPS available.
I do miss the grenades though. Gas grenades and those spinning, nail-shooting things the soldiers carried were like finding a finger in your can of Pepsi; only the finger is made of gold, and it scratches your back whenever you have an itch.
Jim Sterling: Pretty much just Fable. Can you believe I never played it before? It's okay, save for piss-poor targeting and a more linear feel than I'd hoped for. Still, not too shabby.
Savant: This week has been filled with random gaming goodness! I have been investing ample amounts of time sitting in front of my Xbox 360, playing The Halos (yeah, all 3 of 'em!), Puzzle Quest on XBLA, and some skate. here and there. Most importantly though, is that I've rediscovered the joys of PC gaming with my newly-acquired beta account for Hellgate: London. I can't really say much due to NDA, but I can say that this is going to be one excellent title when it is completely polished.
BlindsideDork: The Orange Box is teh sex. Colette Bennett: MGS4, Silent Hill: Origins, FF Crystal Chronicles DS, and anything else I can play from the scant selection at E for All.
Faith: I've been playing Final Fantasy Tactics: War of the Lions, The Orange Box,The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and Brain Age. I've also been playing around with the trial version of Puzzle Quest. What a great game idea! Gameboi: Well let's see... Since acquiring one of those non-gimped PS3's I've pretty much played every demo available on the thing. That, and a smidgen of Motorstorm. Other than that, it's been about toying around with Final Fantasy XII, and continuing with the Halo 3 thing. I think that about covers it. My thoughts? The PS3 hardware seems nice (and better made than Microsoft's piece of shit), but the online interface is nothing short of a joke. How obvious it is to all of us which company specializes in hardware, and which is the software giant.
Dick McVengeance: Got Dynasty Warriors Gundam in the mail, and so that'll be collecting dust until I get through Soul Nomad and the World Eaters. It's just too much fun. Besides that, I'll be getting into Scourge: Hive pretty soon.
Topher Cantler: Beautiful Katamari is not so beautiful.
.tiff: I will not stop playing Portal until I find the easter egg that forces GlaDOS to be my HeteRobo partner for life.
David Houghton: Valve have had all my attention this week. I've been finishing off Half-Life 2 and plowing through Episode 1 before I start Episode 2 this week. I've also had a staggering good time with the droplet of purest goodness that is Portal (Those turret guns are health-damagingly cute. I want one!). It's just as much fun messing around with the physics as it is actually completing tasks and I love it to pieces. Other than that it's been a bit of the Unreal Tournament 3 demo, which actually runs surprisingly well on my PC. *praises various things* Tristero: I played Castlevania: Symphony of the Night on PS for old time's sake. I also got totally destroyed in Tetris Attack by Dale North, puzzle game player extraordinaire.
Nick Chester: Half Life 2: Episode Two; Flatout: Ultimate Carnage; Mercury Meltdown: Revolution. That is all.
Chad Concelmo: The highlights of the slim pickings at E for All included: Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, Super Mario Galaxy, Advance Wars: Day of Ruin, and, of course, Super Smash Bros. Brawl. But the best game I played -- not only this week, but in a long time -- was Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters at Disneyland. It was epic.
Ron Workman: NamelessTed sucks 1 and 2, and butmac video creator 5000. I also got a little hands on time with your mom.
Dyson: I just picked up Beautiful Katamari and have been delving into that as of today. I finally beat Phantom Hourglass last weekend, which now gives me time for the other games on my to play list. Some of which include, The original Half-Life, Siren for PS2, Beyond Good and Evil, and more BioShock. Yes, I still haven't finished BioShock. Look, I work. Grim: Halo 3, the Guitar Hero 3 demo, Team Fortress 2, Half-Life 2, and I also beat Portal again.
Darn you Colette!!! You get to play Silent Hill (shake fist in anger).
I beat Portal which has one of the best endings and ending song ever, also beat Phantom Hourglass which had a cool ending boss which inspired me to play Wind Waker again. Chad I am also jealous of you to because you got to play Advance Wars (second fist of anger).
I finally finished all the character paths and got all the achievements in Dynasty Warriors Gundam. That game was an unexpectedly huge time-sink, with me spending around 65 hours on it.
I've also started a new campaign in Rome: Total War now that Europa Barbarorum 1.0 was just released.
I also work, and blog, so it's been tough to give games much attention.
Just got to the last boss in God Hand (buy this game) today, but haven't beat it yet. Just got to the last dungeon in Phantom Hourglass last night, but haven't beat that yet either. Still waiting for Mario Galaxy, Phoenix Wrigth 3, Contra 4, Rondo of Blood on the PSP, Geometry Wars Galaxies, and of course Smash Bros Brawl.
Still haven't opened the mediocre Mega Man DS games I won in that Siliconera contest.
I'm re-gifting some of them in a contest on the c-blogs, if anybody wants them.
Been mostly playing Guitar Hero 1, trying to five-star everything on Hard for the hell of it. I've managed to do it for every song except two which are still four-stars: Texas Flood (damn you, GH1's harder pull-offs) and Bark at the Moon (since I've only ever played it once on hard). DMV now grits his teeth whenever I turn on the TV in preparation for the inevitable wail of Stevie Ray Vaughn's guitar.
Other than that, Deus Ex, Halo 3, and Ouendan on Intense.
Also, I went to a local convention, where I got my hands on the Guitar Hero III demo and proceeded to rock the shit out of Rock You Like a Hurricane on Extreme.
Gave in and finished Schmortal, GH3 demo, GH2, and Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts (which is terribly overlooked). MP3 coming out next friday, wooo!
that zombie video was sooo painful to watch i also share a affinity for anti-zombie movements im currently reading THE ZOMBIE SURVIVAL GUIDE again so much fun. almost everything the video suggest for you to do is wrong. My interest in zombies is a problem first of all some obvious mistakes no guns, pencils, killing of innocents, typical zombie movies activities, never go to the basement or any underground area you know the basics lol oh and KOTOR, Bioschock Pokemon red, halo 3, warcraft 3
I've beat everything in the Orange Box. And um... lesee, I started up Soul Nomad, then found a glitch that makes you die 100% of the time a couple hours in (not when you are supposed to die), but luckily that goes away after a reboot. This game seems criminally under promoted, and much more interesting to me than most other NI games (from a gameplay standpoint).
And umm... Orochi Warriors here and there, and my custom GH I+II Mix.
I finally got an invite for HG and it is entertaining, but I am not sure how long I can stand quests that are just "Kill X of <monster name>", so I am 50/50 on whether to get it. I am still early in the game, so I am hoping it will get better. How far did you get?
Final Fantasy Tactics. And then some more Final Fantasy Tactics. And more Final Fantasy Tactics. Did I mention Final Fantasy Tactics?
Seriously, I can't stop playing the damn thing. Got in a touch of Mega Man Powered Up, too, and started playing God of War 2, but Tactics drew me back. I've been playing it 3+ hours daily since I bought it.
Halo 3, Portal (OMG AWESOME!), Half Life 2 (all episodes), and TF2 (OMG LAG!).
I never would of thought Portal to be as awesome as it was. Team Fortress 2 is mildly enjoyably on the 360 right now. It's a lagfest and I can't seem to "get it." It makes me want to jump back into the Halo 3 fragestathon - and I do. Hopefully as they patch this game up I'll be able to enjoy me some TF2. I still love the art style.
Finished Gears of War on hardcore, beat Portal (LOVED IT), and playing tons of TF2 on the 360. I've been sticking to the 4v4 games, where it runs smooth and is a blast.
I'm on Turnabout Big Top in Phoenix Wright Justice for All. I was hoping to be done by the time Trials and Tribulations came out, but I guess that won't be happening... Also, I picked up Rune Factory and Mega Man Starforce: Pegasus over the Toys'R'Us sale this week.
@Dexter: Oh, and I presume you already have your hands on Final Fantasy XIII and God of War III as well?
Hm...well I played a crapload of Warhawk this week in preparation for PSNatHome.com’s tourney on Saturday, but I lost in the first round — I call shenanigans, though, as they’re going to re-do it in November (people missed their games, others couldn’t get on to the server, etc.) after the v1.1 patch comes out...they should re-do the whole tournament so I get a second chance!
Anyway, this week, I have a 6- to 7-page paper due Tuesday and a midterm each on Wednesday and Thursday, so I won’t have any time for gaming at all until Thursday night. At that point, I’m gonna get back into Guitar Hero and Guitar Hero II in preparation for Sunday’s release of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock (I pre-ordered it from Best Buy).
When the hell is Orange Box coming out for PS3? Wait, never mind...I have too many other games on my list this year. I won’t be able to spend the time or money on them all.
@ Teta: The PC version of Psychonauts supports joypads. You can pick the game up on Steam for cheap or it's free with a GameTap subscription.
I've been playing Excite Truck (thanks again to all the Dtoiders who suggested songs for my custom soundtrack), and I plan on getting back to Metroid Prime 3 soon.
Half-Life Ep 1 I'll start tonight
And im going to Sacrifice Halo 3 and Phanton hourglass to get as much done in Persona 3 as I can. I told myself I would not put another game in my PS2 unless I did so. so until then, ICO sits there...ignored for another week
Ahh, I'm a very lucky guy. Though I finished Portal pretty much as soon as I got it downloaded (and boy was it great!) I didn't play it this week. This week I'm playing more TF2 and doing a lot better at it btw, while making my way through Half Life 2, which I've never played before. Well worth the wait. More about that on my blog later.

best. hero. game. ever.
spiderman 2 eat your fuxing heart out. seriously.
if it had ragdoll physics, i'd got out and buy 16 more copies.
people, don't underestimate the green giant.
Also my girlfriend.
Oh, GT5: Prologue Demo and DiRT too. R.I.P Colin McRae. There's something kinda spooky about that game ever since he died...
Now i need to buy the full retail, but keyboard and mouse controllers suck ass in that game.
It's awesome :D

Also, Okami finally.
I started playing Crash of the Titans for the PS2 but the game is too repetitive...
The end.
*****SPOILER*****
The cake was a lie btw.
joking by the way.
And umm... Orochi Warriors here and there, and my custom GH I+II Mix.
I dont have a job, therefore i dont have games
Max Brooks is a supergenius and I loved the video. Nice job.
I finally got an invite for HG and it is entertaining, but I am not sure how long I can stand quests that are just "Kill X of <monster name>", so I am 50/50 on whether to get it. I am still early in the game, so I am hoping it will get better. How far did you get?

Also, Orange Box.
So yeah. Chocobos and orange box.
Also got into a cool board game that I've taken a liking too. Called Killer Bunnies, check it out.

gears, portal, bioshock, tf2, halo 3, fantastic!
Portal is also amazing.
Best 60 bucks I ever spent.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN
