I'm sorry guys. This last week at GDC raped my brain and pillaged my body and I only just now woke up. Like some kind of Thompsonian freak-out, my only memories of this last week consist of being attacked by bats. Of course, that alone won't stop me from bringing you the games the editors are playing this week, even if I am a day late.
Also, there's no joke here. Sorry to disappoint, but I've given up comedy for Lent and I'm trying really hard to be a good Christian. Yes, it's all to impress a girl, but none of you ever wear cute little leather skirts for me. You selfish bastards.
Oh, I almost forgot, I want to give a shout-out to my boys at Perpetual. If you cats ever make it up to Portland, look me up, and we'll go feed some damn sea lions.
How I regret not feeding those sea lions ...
Colette Bennett:
All I played this week were exclusive unreleased titles like Pokemon Pearl, Super Paper Mario, etc, etc because I spent the week at GDC.
Taste the envy, fuckers.
Nex:
The only game I got a chance to play at any length this week was Virtua Fighter 5 on the PlayStation 3 at GDC. After getting my ass handed to me in Tekken, I opted for a game that I could actually play for shit, and I spent twenty minutes or so making children and aspiring Korean game developers doubt their masculinity. I stand by my call that it's just a glossier VF4, but that should be enough to sell a couple hundred thousand copies.
Robert Summa:
I'm playing the game Please Don't Die of Alcohol Poison.
hushgush:
I'm finally playing Crackdown, which I had to rent because the US postal service moves slower than a snail that's been stapled to the floor.
Dick McVengeance:
I'm playing Lunar Knights right now, since I only brought my DS home with me. I'm stuck at a stupid guantlet run. God, I hate those dogs and those giant chickens.
Fronz:
Pokemon Fire Red. Yeah, that's right.
Nick Brutal:
I dabble in Crackdown, although my progress has been stalled because my Xbox Live Gold service expired and it's not half as fun to play single player (*cough*someone give me a code*cough*).
Also, a few weeks ago (three months ago, actually), I found a sealed copy of Disaster Report for the PS2. I started playing that last night and I'm not sure what to think of it yet, so I'll get back to you on that one.
Grim:
Lately I've been playing lots of Live Arcade games like Alien Hominid HD, Worms, and even New Rally X. I also picked up MotoGP '06 and Tony Hawk's American Wasteland; the first is extremely hard and the second just plain sucks.
Niero:
Between pockets of being on a mission to evangelize everyone into becoming children of Beat Tengoku, I also played the upcoming Ubisoft Jam Sessions game Jam Sessions on the DS at SXSW. Robert and I also spent some quality time with Calling All Cars at GDC: Jaffe's new arcade style timekiller and wanted to kick the TV between sessions of a new upcoming puzzle game on the PS3 network. Aside from that, a little Super Paper Mario and GOW2. I didn't get to see any new Assasin's Creed like I had hoped, but it was a killer week nonetheless.
Cybernetic Tiger Z:
I've been playing Super Mario Super Star Saga for the last week. It's a great GBA title. I played it a long time ago and I don't remember it being nearly 14 hours long. Very long for a GBA title.
Faith:
Still playing Psychonauts - this game is wicked! Been real busy this week - working on some stuff for the upcoming Dtoid 1 year celebration.
What have you guys been playing this week? I'm going back to drinking Nyquil and praying for the world to stop bleeding into itself. I hope your liver is happier than mine.
I've also been watching many videos about Fable 2, which I wish to be playing now.
its hard as balls, im level 99(max level) and i cant get all the way down the dungeon to the last boss, i need to work on my weapon and arm a bit more :/
also been playing more lost planet, today ive been in first in all but 2 games out of 12
Most of it's been Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2 with a little bit of RE4 on the PS2 whenever I can pull my roommate off it.
I plan on picking up GRAW 2 at some point this week.
Yeah man, I know what you're saying. I flip flop between Dan and Coyote, but I think Coyote sees more action because I like naughty language.
After watching the No More Heroes trailer I went on a quest to find my Killer7 saves. 2 minutes later, I'm picking up from a year ago, kicking some Heaven Smile ass with my girlfriend wondering why my dude keeps saying, "You're fucked!"
---------
That's hilarious, I booted up Killer 7 after Goichi's talk too. :)
I'm also glad to see people here picking up Killer7. So good.
Also just picked up a copy of Killer7 to keep me going til no more heroes.
Other than that - the mighty Mario Baseball.
There is a learning curve, but once you get over it you'll be sticking tricks primo . . . or something.
At any rate, go play it. You'll thank me later.
I'm also playing Pokemon FireRed, since I just bought it a few days ago. Can't wait for Diamond!
Yeah i've a thing for Roman numerals gets me hot
A fuckton of Worms. I think the only thing to stop me from playing Worms is when TMNT comes out, but until then, I am playing Worms. Someone challenge me!
I also went to the library to find the scariest book possible. Turned out to be a 100+ yr old book with a leather cover and rotted pages with a huge picture of Rasputin on the first paged. No title or table of contents.
havent played an SSX since tricky and so far I can't tell if its a learning curve or if drawing shapes is the stupidest idea for a snowboarding game ever...
First Virtua Fighter I have ever gotten into and so far I am impressed but I am going to wait until the 360 version comes out to pick one to buy
"I'm finally playing Crackdown, which I had to rent because the US postal service moves slower than a snail that's been stapled to the floor." -hushgush
Fucking racist! I find the term "slower than a snail" to be racists on multiple levels, and declared to have the word banned from racial conversation. How would you like it if everyone called you "Snail guy"???
Though due to trying to power off the DS while Izuna was saving(after I died in the sixth dungeon) I have to start allllll over.
