I will never like nautghy dog again because they sold crash bandicoot out for a quick buck, those games made them what they are today. Dont they have any loalty to their franchises
I haven't seen the presentation of Watch Dogs in E3 but I'm really happy with this. Btw, do you guys know how scary this game can be? I really want to play it but I most of the time I can't handle the tension from survival horror games. If it's RE4 scary I can probably (even if barely) handle it. Damn, it even took me days to gain the courage to fight through that part of Drake's Fortune where you need to fight those mutants in the dark. Haha.
so I think it goes without saying that the Dtoid community unanimously accepts Watch_dogs to be GotS.

I agree, even before I read that the demo they showed wasn't scripted gameplay and could be played in different ways, the game showed a lot of promise. I liked Watch Dogs and Star Wars 1313 but Naughty Dog takes the prize home
Here's the thing. I'm getting a little sick of sites praising excessive sequels for some companies while tearing other companies apart for it. Everything I have seen for this game makes it look like the 5th Uncharted game in 6 years... zzzzzzzzz.

I don't understand how this seems like an Uncharted clone. It has the same character style, the characters talk to eachother, and you can shoot guns. What else makes it Uncharted-like? The whole pace of the game, and the themes it represents couldn't be any more different from the happy-go-lucky action movie vibe that Uncharted has.
Is it the inventory, crafting system, scarce resource, the non-regenerative health bar, medkits, the reactive A.I., the post-apocalyptic setting? What is it that says "UNCHARTED" to you? I would very much like to know.

Looks like a bitchin game! It sounded cool when it seemed to just be Uncharted's gameplay with fresh paintjob. Now that I've heard all these other details it sounds even better.

The E3 demo was kind of impressive but really looked like a long cutscene or scripted sequence, can it play differently or should you go according to the script? I'll just remind you people about the infamous Killzone 2 trailer.
Anyway, Uncharted is one of the most overrated franchises ever, so i'm expecting a lot of 10s and awards for this one.

I voted for Watch Dogs but I liked this too. Was just into the hacking future world thing a wee bit more. Still, if this game actually gets an AI partner right it will be something to celebrate on that fact alone.
no, just no. The Last if Us was complete disappointment to me. when they revealed the game i thought that finally they moved away from scripted corridor shooter that was Uncharted series. and then they showed ridiculously scripted demo that was barely above what Heavy Rain was doing 3 years ago.
and if we consider what other titles were shown at E3 The Last of Us wouldn't even crack Top10, IMO. Watch Dogs, Rayman Legends, Divinity: Original Sin, ArmA 3, Sleeping Dgos, Hitman Absolution, Pikmin 3, Tomb Raider, Assassin's Creed III etc.

Yeah, I'm not getting why Watch_Dogs isn't on the list. It was by far the most impressive thing at the show. But I'm cool with Last of Us winning. It was my personal second place.
I'm alright with this. ND has a pretty amazing track-record so I don't think there's anything to worry about.
Congratulations Naughty Dog, it is well deserved. There were good games at the show and the most mind blowing for me were The Last of Us, Beyond and Watch Dogs. I also have to congratulate Sony for having the best exclusive line up, their 2 new IP looks simple amazing.
I can agree with this, the action looks beautifully violent. But I'm also excited for the *potential* of Watch Dogs.
All those people criticizing The Last of Us as being a scripted game seems to have missed the article that explain that the game is not scripted and it constantly change and react to the decisions you made. So... now, what is your next excuse?
i love everyone claiming TLOU was all scripted. its a game, almost all games are scripted in some form or another. ever walk in a room in doom2 and a guy not seeing you till you cross a line, or in one room they cant hear your gun, but cross that line and shoot and you get swarmed? yup doom has scripted parts.
also. watch dogs has scripted parts, yet no one complains about it.

I was at e3 and the most fun I had was in Sony's section. There was a ton of first and third party games to have fun with!
For everyone with doubts, Playstation All Stars was so much fun it's unbelievable! Sly Cooper also delivered on all fronts.

I totally understand this choice, but it wouldn't be my choice. Naughty Dog creates great characters (which is why I'll probably get it), but their gameplay and shooting mechanics and encounter design have always been loose and unsatisfying (which is why I'll play it on easy).
Okay, common sense time. The Watch Dogs trailer was great and was a wonderful surprise and the kind of thing we want out of E3, for us it was great and will probably win the community award.
But the staff are actually there at E3, they’re playing these games, and getting more in depth looks at them, it’s a totally different perspective, they’re participants and we’re spectators.
So, Watch Dogs – looks great, we love it!

Personally, I can't wait to get Watch_Dogs and Last of Us so I can shove them both in my butt's mouth.
Do not perceive this as disparagement but when Naughty Dog and/or Amy Hennig stray from the now rote Joss Whedon male lead...wake me up.

I still just see wasted potential in this. They SAY not all encounters are action-based or violent, but it's not what they're showing.

As far as light banter between kills, you'd be surprised how fast normalcy bias changes when your whole paradigm changes. In a new world where everything is fucked, the only way to STAY human is to make light of the situation. It makes them human, not less human.

This looks quite stellar. But as someone who only owns an Xbox and I hate exclusives. If you are going to make a game of this caliber you have no right to not make it available to everyone. *jealous rant over*.
There were some great games on display and Last of Us definitely stands out near the top. Too bad there were no surprises other than the great looking Watch Dogs.

How did the gameplay in Last of Us do anything do distinguish itself from Uncharted? It looked like it played exactly the same as any of the Uncharted sections with a buddy. An apocalyptic setting isn't even interesting anymore, especially if they only portray the running-around-and-killing-other-survivors-because-shit-is-real part. The fights looked intense but are likely going to be a set of triggered QTEs or button mashing animations; they'll lose their impact over time and unless they're forced upon you you'll probably stop doing them in favour of shooting everyone after long. Does anyone remember the vicious melee kills from Killzone 3 or Halo Reach? Does anyone care about those anymore?

It's cool that the developers say nothing is scripted and there's going to be more to the gameplay than a 3rd person cover-based shooter exactly like Uncharted, but you'd never tell from that trailer.
