Void Star Creations has broken the seal and announced the release date for Poker Smash coming to XBLA. Next Wednesday you can try out a game that I have to say, I really didn't expect to love so much. Created by 4 men in a cave using only sticks, duct tape, and various small rodents, or maybe that is the version that lives in my head, Poker Smash is not another bland Poker game, but a fast-paced puzzle game that really brings some new blood to the XBLA table.

Although niether Microsoft or Void Star have announced an official pricepoint, it is most likely going to be available for 10 bucks (800 points). If for some reason it isn't, I will send each one of you pictures of Jim Sterling beating a small child. I have 100's of them that I need to get rid of before court.

Tetris Attack/PanelDePon/Planet Puzzle League + Cards + Better Controls and Sweet Interface = Poker Smash

Yeah, though I agree with Charliesuh (I love Tetris Attack/PPL/ Panel De Pon), I don't think I'll be picking this one up. Not really into poker anymore (this would have appealed to me more about 6 years ago though), and I have the game in 6 other formats. Though this is cleaner and prettier I don't see it being worth 10 bucks. Especially not with Radiant Silvergun / Ikaruga / Exelica all (hopefully) coming out in the next few months.

I think that when it comes out I'll try it and be disappointed just because Aerodynamic isn't the in-game music.

Looks pretty promising.

I need a way to play Panel de Pon on my TV now that the Wii no longer loads Japanese GameCube games. This may do the trick.

Plus, Planet Puzzle League cost 30$. If Poker Smash only costs $10, then I'm all in (bad Poker pun intended).

@Knives: Seconded.

I didn't realize until the end that the Daft Punk remix wasn't the In-game music. I was slightly crestfallen, but the game still looks interesting.

What the hell, never would I have thought I'd be so interested in a poker-themed game.

Wow that looks a lot cooler than I thought it would be. I might get it.

Also, hardcore video intro is hardcore.

I was wondering what the story around this thing was. Ron, whats up with the "Poker Smash Store"? Is it where you use in game $ to buy new decks or backrounds? Or more challenges and modes to unlock? Thanks.

I really enjoyed this game. I thought it was gonna be yet another puzzle game, but I could barely tear myself off of it once I started going.

It's pretty cool.

Awesome game and video, I'll be picking this up for sure. Don't worry about sending me a picture of Sterling beating children I already have to many as it is.

that game looks tits. I have heard Ron talking about it but it sounded like just another random puzzle game with a stupid twist. But that video makes it look pretty cool. If only I still had a 360

you can NEVER have too many puzzle games. It is an impossibility to have too many. That is almost like saying I have enough head in my life. Never enough let alone too much!

I('m gonna poke around and see if I can find out what the stores deal is. I'll update if I find anything interesting.

@Ocified-Xboxer

Is you pause the vid right when the store is highlighted, the description says this:

"Unlock themes, Gamer pics, and Puzzle solutions with your in-game earnings and check for new downloads from marketplace."

@JDUB X

Thanks...I didn't even think to look at the side deal when it was scrolled over. Seems a bit odd to look for new DLs there though when on the main menu it has 'check for DLC' on there...Hopefully they will have some different decks and some other kind of cool shit. The game looks tits though so Wed should be fun. If I can get my head yanked out of DMC4 for a bit....
