Destructoid is kind of a big deal, or so we've heard. A huge part of that is our unbelievable fanbase. Another part is the variety of outspoken borderline lunatics who write for it. At PAX Prime, fans and lunatics alike unite for Destructoid LIVE. We've been honored to hold several panels in the past, but at PAX Prime, Destructoid aims to give you the most entertaining, fan-servicing, AMAZING show yet!
Destructoid Live will feature three of the Dtoid's most colorful characters -- Jim Sterling, Jonathan Holmes and Chad Concelmo. We'll be covering a variety of topics, including review controversies, videogame JOURNALISM, the sometimes scary world of reader interaction, and whatever else we decide to ramble about.
Dtoid Live is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, September 4th at 10:30am in the Unicorn Theatre. Dates, times and locations are subject to change and we'll let you know well ahead of time. If you're attending PAX and you enjoy Destructoid, we humbly ask that you consider spending a little time with us. There will be prizes! Maybe. No definitely... possibly.
Oh, and if you have any ideas for topics or things you would like to see us do, then TELL US! We want this to entertain you, and we will have a better idea of what entertains you if you let us know!
THAT'S RACIST!
I wish I could be there ::sadface::
Possible topic - video game sites consistently not covering video game topics.
You should hold a contest exclusive to the residents of Leander, Austin, TX.
Warning to fellow Dtoiders: Get in line early! Last year I came right from the Mega64 panel, and I got in the line, and according to the enforcer I would fit in the room (he had already counted 25 obligatory spots in line for people who would cut) and I ended up not making it in the panel, because more people cut in line than expected. So get in line early and fuck everybody who cut in line last year.
Anyway, yay and such!
Really looking forward tot he show! Will be watching.
... and for questions/topics, I would be interested in the site demographics and how they've changed over the years (or not changed). It seems that when I joined there was a lot more irrelevant pics of partially clothed hot girls used as story headers and I would be interested in knowing if the shift away from that was due to changing demographics for the site (more females, more guys viewing the site from work, more married guys on the site)... or whether ya'll just got bored of them and will start using those again when the urge strikes. Hell, I don't even know how/what you're able to accurately track in terms of demographics.
ok, enough for now, I'll be back to getting flipped out excited in like 5 mins
It better be documented.
No.
@Xzyliac: Looks like I'll be your competition then.
I think it's safe to get in if you get there like 30 mins earlier, probably 20mins too, you just have to get there before the "oh, what do we do now? well there's a dtoid panel in like 10 mins wanna check it out? ok!" ppl get there.
You could always just check the showfloor like an hour before and make trips to see if a line is forming.
I have been terrified at the idea of just three people turning up.
It was probably more dtoiders that already knew each other letting friends stay with them in line than actual assholes cutting in.
