Oh well, here's hoping the PS3 version is playable by the time the GOTY edition comes out.
Seriously, rent it, at least. It's so fun. I have all the top 5 and it's the most engaging of the them all.
The fact that Skyrim STILL is generating hype is amazing.
The monstrous abomination that is Call of Duty had NO hype after that shit was released! Is it not an accomplishment to still have hype weeks after the game has come out? Honestly, there's just no pleasing some people.
By the by, how many votes DID Call of Duty get? hahahahaha
Skyrim on PS3 is a game that gets worse the more you play it, and it’s also a game that never ends, neither of these facts seems to deter me.
Oh that's right. This was a community vote, not contrived nonsense to use as a platform for advertising, so they can't hide behind the usual bullshit reasons for crying. Sure hope their okay without the ability to vent all that butthurt rage.
;)
Ah, well. YER ALL FOOLS(Goes back to Wii to play hero mode)!
What a great year for videogames. Like, holy shit was it ever good!
Well, here's to another awesome year of gaming goodness!
A decade from now, dark souls, Zelda, portal 2 will be just as good. LOL
Hipster Hype has made gaming stupid.
Portal 2 is a gem of a game if you enjoy a good narrative. Really fun co-op, too.
Keep in mind that it's a puzzle-based shooter, though. No chainsaw melees or UAVs in sight :)
I did. ...I think. I either voted for Skyrim or Portal 2. I forget which. I totally would have voted for Skyrim if I didn't vote for Portal 2... assuming of course that I didn't in fact vote for Skyrim in the first place...
...
Yeah.
"A decade from mow nobody will play Skyrim."
People still play (and mod) the hell out of Oblivion, and it released almost six years ago. I wonder: when's the last time you booted up Twilight Princess?
Valve missed out on chainsaws guess more variety wouldve done that game wonders IMO
BUT is there any chance of Serios Sam coming to 360 soon? That game looks EVEN more tight then Duke Nukem but with kinda similar stile
Just validates companies that go with the sell game and (maybe) patch later mentality.
@Mr Andy Dixon
I'm curious. How many votes did Rayman Origins and MGS HD Collection get?
Game of the year: Portal 2.
Oh, and after I spent several hours with Skyrim, and I really want to say this:
DARK SOULS > Skyrim
-- Dark Souls isn't only much more fun to play, but also has a combat system which Skyrim could only dream of having. If I add an unique online element and brilliant world/enemies design, well there you have it.
Thanks From Software for putting such a tremendous game on the map whose many elements will set a new standard in the genre today, ideas that I expect major companies will take or steal for their own games.
Dark Souls is easily the best RPG of 2011, and I hope they know it.
"A decade from mow nobody will play Skyrim."
I still play The Elder Scrolls: Morrowind to this day. It's 9 years old. You were saying?
Morrowind a game that came out almost a decade ago is still being played and modded till this day. As for portal 2, while I love that game it is a game that I can't really play more than once and enjoy considering the lack of challenge isn't there anymore.
Sigh I don't even know why I still read your comments anymore, they just make me mad and realize how stupid people can be.
Do you have to be like this every time you post?
You don't have to voice your opinion like a raging cunt, you know. You could be a little more assertive and don't make so paternalizing statements about gamers, the industry, how do you think Nintendo is better than sex, or whatever.
You are just making yourself look like a fucking douche.
Rayman: 25
MGS: 3
@Hasney
Ghost Trick: 2
Sorry for the bad news, boys :( Join me in my misery!
dead space 2 only got 22!? damn... I could've made it 23.
WHY? WHY DIDN'T THE VOTING WORK FOR ME!!
Because, Christ, Skyrim is going to win everything. It just put Modern Warfare 3 in a headlock and told it that it was going to win Best FPS of the year, just for shits and giggles.
That's what I was going to say. I still play Morrowind. And just recently I was playing Daggerfall, which is 15 fucking years old. So, I don't think Skyrim will just fade from memory anytime soon.
But the Game of My Heart goes to Dark Souls. It's been months, and I still get pumped to try out new builds and weapon types, or when an invader drops into my game at the exact worst moment, or when I decide to sunbro assist on a boss and get thankful messages when we emerge victorious. Seriously just an all-around amazing title.
