Our dream of waking up the East Coast to gaming lives on, as Destructoid and various Florida-based gaming companies invite you tournaments, meet-ups, and parties sure to be more fun than your deaf cousin's ice sculpture-themed bar mitzvah. Check out what's going on all around South Florida and Orlando in the coming weeks after the jump. Video above: Community Vibes IV in February, baby!
P.S. Destructoid is turning three years old in March, and we're celebrating in Miami this year. Deets after the jump!
TOMORROW, Miami Beach
Noobie Games on Miami Beach will be hosting its first Halo 3 tournament of the year with $200 in cash prizes, tickets to the Miami Heat, and swag prizes to boot. Check out NoobieGames.com for more information. They've got a sweet store located on the corner of 39th and Alton Road; check out the flyer in the gallery below. Registration begins at 2pm, don't be late!
JAN 15, Fort Lauderdale
SFX 360 and GameWars present 2v2 Call of Duty 4 and Gears of War 2 tournaments at Boomers in Boca, over a thousand dollars in prizes! Registration is $20, space is limited. Check Gamewars for updates, as the schedule may change. SFX 360 is also giving away a free console.
JAN 16–20, Orlando
Remember the Halo wedding? Destructoid is making the drive to kiss the Chiefs and also cover Otronicon, held in the Orlando Science Center, where various classes, game competitions, and classic gaming movies will be shown in the evening. Very relevant to my interests.
FEBRUARY 14, everywhere
Valentine's Day, bitches. As a public service announcement, I'm reminding you hella early to start thinking about your girl/man/beast now, instead of going into a state of panic at the last minute and buying them an animatronic frog from CVS.
FEBRUARY 21, Coconut Grove
Gamertag Radio brings you Community Vibes IV, a fusion of gaming and music. Expect numerous prizes, such as an Xbox Elite, Zune and games handed out every hour; open gaming sessions and participation in Halo 3 and Gears of War 2 tournaments hosted by SFX 360 & GameWars; musical performances by Mayday; and more! Destructoid will be there hosting a $200 Street Fighter IV tournament (assuming the game will not be delayed) and giving away all kinds of stuff.
MARCH 7, Miami Beach
Have you ever seen a guy in a robot helmet jog a 5K? If I die in my 30s, you'll know why. We're officially introducing a Geek Circuit to the 5th Annual Ocean Drive 5K for those that wouldn't normally be interested in perspiration. Check it out, it's for a good cause!
MARCH 13–16, Miami (Upper East side)
HOLY CRAP, Destructoid.com turns 3! Since the economy is shit, this year we're staying in town and getting destroyed at our favorite alcohol-dispensing destinations. We'll be in our new office space and everyone's invited to the housewarming. If you were banned for trolling and still come down, we're still buying you shots. More details -- and a contest to fly one Dtoider down free to live the dream with us -- coming up.
July 3–5, Dallas, Texas
Don't live anywhere near Florida? How about Texas? Everyone lives near Texas, kinda! Just a reminder that ScrewAttack's first convention is right smack in the middle of the year and in the middle of the country. We'll be there to pop the cherry and also host some bizarre panels.
OCT 23–25, Miami (Airport area)
Later this year, Miami gets a proper gaming convention, Infinite Bits! The event takes place at the DoubleTree Miami Mart Hotel & Convention Center, and will feature all kinds of awesome. Destructoid will be hosting panels, tournaments, and giveaways for all those that come looking like they've showered recently. More deets coming soon.

Too funny. My wife and I have recently agreed to quest for the most ridiculous sappy crappy mementos for Valentine's Day. CVS is a crap gift goldmine.
The 5k run sounds fun... but I need to get my ass in gear if I'm going to attempt it. I'll see if I can get the lead out and get prepared. I want to RUN WITH THE ROBOT!
If they don't enact a burn ban this summer in Texas, I would like to volunteer my parents farm (inconveniently located in the middle of nowhere) as a place to incinerate fireworks.
It's about an hour north of Dallas, which is a drive, but again... Fireworks... explosions... mull it over. Get back to me.
Alternatively, if I can find some other place closer to attempt to kill ourselves with cheap chinese explosives, I can arrange for a different location.
Awesome. I am in Miami, and if you play (xbox 360) Soul Calibur IV, Virtua Fighter 5 or Street Fighter 4 or Guilty Gear message me! Hope there's some more fighting games boots at the conventions.
You should totally "fly" me down. Seeing as I live in Florida and Miami is only about a 2 and half hour drive. Fuck a ticket, just give me some gas money.
zomg, i was just thinking about how i wish i could be meet some dtoiders, and i live in austin tx! fuckin A im totally saving money for a room up there in dallas. im totally excited.
I'm sure I can get the money for the plane tix but I'm not really sure if I could afford the hotel (although honestly I don't know how much that would be, but still)
Knives - let me get a headcount of the editors first, we might already be overbooked in our quarters. There's a motel down the street for $47/night with free HBO and curbside hookers though worst case :)
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

ScrewAttack had some con in Grapevine last year I think and it was pretty fun; met AVGN. Now I can finally say hi to the dtoid crew.

Oooo that sounds good... "Run with the Robot!"
Unluckily all other dates are a bit too far away for me...
I WANT DESUTOID TO MEET HIS MASTER!!!
