I have to be honest, I'm not a Dragon Ball Z fan. However, one look at Dragon Ball Z: Burst Limit and my first thought was that I had to play it, just for the fact that it looks absolutely gorgeous and presents a really solid opportunity to punch people in the face. I never tire of the ability in videogames to do that without having to explain myself afterwards.

The demo is currently available on Xbox Live, and the game will be out on June 10th for PS3 and 360. If you are a DBZ fan, this ought to make you feel creamy in the pants. In the meantime, enjoy the exclusive videos here and after the jump of in-game footage, arm wrestling and how to decorate your naughty parts using perler beads and a hot glue gun.

The demo was pretty good, but I'm not sure if it's £40 good.

Every time I think of Burst Limit, I think of that annoying commercial that's on television right advertising the game.

that....was.....awesome!

I wonder if they would include breakable environments like DOA or Tekken. That would be hard core to hit someone in the air so hard that they go through the floor or something.

DBZ suxorz but this game looks fantastic.

Amazing how crisp anime-styled next-gen games are looking these days.

I can't speak for Burst Limit, but in Tenkaichi 3 you can hit and throw people through pieces of the environment. You haven't lived until you've fired a laser beam so powerful it sends your opponent hurtling through a mountain whose collapse kills him.

For those of you who are not fans of the show, myself included, rest assured the games are amazingly enjoyable. If you cannot find some kind of campy joy in yelling loudly and then throwing lasers around that blow shit up you have no soul. For the absolute in "this is so silly and I love every second of it" grab Tenkaichi 3 for the Wii. Special moves, throws, high speed "one thousand punches in five seconds" encounters, and beam struggles are handled with waggle, which sounds annoying, but I find it adds greatly to the fun.

It's missing a bunch of characters(BT3 had literally ALL of them, -2 GT ones[Goku Jr.& Vegeta Jr.]), but if it has a good online mode I'll be happy renting it. I can't wait for the one with every character I could imagine and more.

I really liked how the game handled in the demo. The censoring kind of sucks though. I'm debating whether or not to pick it up.

ok,the reason im not tenting over this(love the anime)is basically because there has been a billion Dbz games,an its honestly an overkill, its stupid how many times iv fought*spoilers* Raditz only to see Goku die, or do a father-son kamehamaha*endz* i wish they'd shift to the Dragon ball gt serise, a game full of win, like delve into it,instead of having like 4 characters,it woiuld be ace to play as like teen goten an mature vegeta

It doesn't look Tenkaichi-ish....that's a tad disappointing.

But then again, I do give em points for the watercooler guy in the commercial.

Yeah, I'm still not impressed or even remotely excited. It's just Budokai 3 with a new coat of paint on it, which is lame. I was hoping they would expand on the Tenkaichi style a little more.

Oh, Collette, you know us DBZ fans so well.

I know the demo isn't groundbreaking but after a while, I became able to perform amazing moves. Also, the whole "kamehameha doesn't cut gameplay" thing is a godsend. That was what made me stop playing Tenkaichi 3...the game was interrupted extremely often if you playes a seasoned gamer.

I'd be impressed if Atari used the team who nailed the cel-shading on a new IP or a new DBZ game instead of a Budokai paintjob.

This games takes such a drastic change from the previous DBZ games, but maybe for the better. They got rid of tons of characters, and have very few stages, but if the gameplay gets nailed for the characters they did include, it was worth it. Vegeta FTW!

I played the demo on my PS3... this is shit all over, it looks like Budokai3 - witch was awesome - but plays like Tenkiachi - pure crap - the worst part, instead of combos using a button for kicks and a button for punches, they thought that would be too hard for players, so they dumbed it down to 2 attack buttons, one for fast weak and one for slow strong attacks, and you just press the same button repeatedly and you're good to go... my dog can play this one just by scratching the controller, I'll rent it to see if my first impressions match the real deal, but I'll hardly buy this one, even though it's graphically perfect, the bes shading ever to the series...

Tenkaichi (all of them) was great DBZ games but totally ass fighting games, If you actually LIKED that one button punch-punch-punch-knock backwards and repeat bullshit, you are under 18. Dragon Ball Z Budokai 3 is the greatest DBZ game ever made, I liked this demo on the 360 though.
