Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

What does it feel like to be a super hot chick who can deftly kick the asses of large groups of thugs all while looking great and managing not to rip the small amount of clothing you are wearing? Well, that's how the Fighter feels, one of the primary classes in Dungeon Fighter Online. Nexon was kind of enough to share an exclusive video with Destructoid of how she plays in the free MMO, and now you can check out the action.

If you want to try out this sidescrolling multiplayer fun, you can head over to the official site and download the client to check out the game for free. My username on there is DtoidColette, so if you want to play a few games feel free to send me a message anytime -- it's more fun when you play with more people!

Looks suspiciously like Diablo.

@mk

Me and you must of been playing different Diablo's, because Dungeon Fighter is the furthest thing from a Diablo clone you could get. For one you don't even use the mouse the play. It's a side scrolling beat em up, with rpg elements.

I saw some rolling cradle. I may try this out before Nexon starts jacking in the stupid Cash shop items. Hopefully it doesn't involve a lot of lvl grinding like another one of their popular MMOs...

Oh, it's open to the public now? Swanky. I was wanting to give this a try.

LMAO! She just Suplexed a fucking Wolf.

Isn't this from the guys of Maple Story? I'll check it out.

This looks like it might be alright. At least an original enough idea to be worth a try since its free. Probably gonna check it out.

@Shin Oni: Too late.

Ive been playing DFO off and on since open beta. So far played a Slayer(like it), Gunner(s'ok), and Mage(like it). Other than a serious lack of purchasable healing/mana items it's a pretty good game.

I clicked to watch the video, but became far more excited by the ad for Ong Bak 2. Redirecting myself there.

@ChronosWing

I'm sorry I wasn't specific, but I meant that the user interface (the two colored bulbs and so on) looked similar in appearance. Of course, the gameplay is radically different.

@lokyar

eh i'll still try it out though. Hopefully it's much more bearable than Maple Story overall.

I tried to install this on my computer but for some reason whenever I tried to launch it, it kept minimizing itself, so I couldn't play any.

I wouldnt discourage anyone from trying it. Im just saying they've already added the cash shop for stuff like avatar changes, consumable items, etc. Entirely optional stuff.

So, I zone in to the first public area. Unsurprisingly, I see the following classes:

Gunnergunnergunnergunnerslayergunnergunnermagegunnermageslayergunnergunnergunner
gunnermagemagegunnerfightergunnergunnergunnergunnergunnermagegunnerslayergunner

And me, a priest.

Gunner is the new Rogue. I should try out the other classes though, Fighter sounds like a winner to me. I've started a priest now, to see how he handles.

This game was nice in closed beta... until they jacked up the EXP requirements to x3 and reduced the amount of EXP dungeons give you. It's not noticeable til later in the game but there are points where you have to run the same level over. And over. And over again. This isn't supposed to be a game with any grind @_@

Oh cool, I'm currently running a lv12 slayer. I may need some party play soon, I've pretty much went solo up until now.

Downloading this right now. I still haven't played an MMO and this will be my first one. Playing Demon Souls has gotten me in the mood.

I was JUST going to say based on the UI alone, it looks suspiciously like Diablo.

That video is actually a level 48 Brawler. You won't be anywhere near as effective with a base Fighter.

I've been playing this since open beta as well. It's honestly the first MMO I've brought myself to play. I run a lvl 27 monk, and I love it.

Oh hey, sweet! I was getting ready to do an article on this game and Colette goes and steals my thunder! Anywho, it's a great little game, and considering my 360's broken and MS is being bitchy about fixing it, I've been playing this a great deal. I'm lvl 27 Priest, username HerrFaustus, send me a message if you want to party or something, I should be on tonight. Let's get some Dtoid action going!

This game is not that bad... but... Nexon buffed the grind to impossible levels, so the game is basically impossible to play once you start getting into the 20's.

Any game that I have to restart five times to even get to the login screen probably isn't one worth playing.
