I was looking forward to WayForward's remake of A Boy And His Blob the moment I heard it announced, but I had no idea what I was really going to see until I actually witnessed the game in action. During our recent visit to the WayForward offices during E3, Director Sean Velasco took the time to walk us through all four of the levels in the E3 demo, including the Forest, Swamp, Cave and Gearworks levels.

We'll show you all four walkthroughs over the next four days, but for now you can hit the jump and watch Sean walk us through the Forest level. Prepare yourself, because once you see your very first Boy/Blob hug, you may be enamored to the point of no return. If you like what you see, tune back in tomorrow afternoon for our exploration of the Swamps level!

Even though the kid moaning from their hug implies something completely different, I can't help but find that adorable. So far, it's shaping up to be a gorgeous and fun game.

This is the most adorable game I have ever seen in the history of video games. I wish I had more money so I could buy it.

The deatiled backgrounds give me great Donkey kong Country memories. More games should be as dynamic while trying to take advantage system capabilities.

And that is a reason why I am loving it so much. 2D has been downgraded to be secondary this generation.

Great video Colette, definitely look forward to seeing more. And trust me, this is only a small fraction of the cuteness this game will have when it's finished. Way Forward are gods of the 2D awesomeness.

I'm looking at this and not seeing anything spectacular or innovative aside from hugging your Blob. While that's cute, I'll need one heck of a lot more to sway me on this one. Standard 2D platforming.

Graphical style will make it wonderful for kids, though.

I'm definitely getting this sweet gem day muhthafuckin' DAY ONE! That looks simply amazing. And I love the "hey!" when he's calling the blob. Reminds me of Ico.

Do want. I remember playing the NES game at my cousin's house, but I had no idea what to do most of the time. I'd just throw the blob jelly beans to see what it would turn into.
