I was looking forward to WayForward's remake of A Boy And His Blob the moment I heard it announced, but I had no idea what I was really going to see until I actually witnessed the game in action. During our recent visit to the WayForward offices during E3, Director Sean Velasco took the time to walk us through all four of the levels in the E3 demo, including the Forest, Swamp, Cave and Gearworks levels.
We'll show you all four walkthroughs over the next four days, but for now you can hit the jump and watch Sean walk us through the Forest level. Prepare yourself, because once you see your very first Boy/Blob hug, you may be enamored to the point of no return. If you like what you see, tune back in tomorrow afternoon for our exploration of the Swamps level!

oh, i like the way this looks. I loved this game as a kid and I'm glad to see that they're updating it. I don't have a Wii but I can probably trick my friends into buying this game.
It looks great visually, the music sounds good, even the kid constantly shouting out is cool. As someone who never really understood the point of the original (having played it for less than a minute), this one definitely has my interest piqued. I just hope that it's not so easy that I'm put off because of a lack of challenge.
I never played the original Boy & His Blob. You know what this reminds me of, though? It's sort of like Tony Hawk showing off his new skateboard peripheral, and then Microsoft showing that you don't even need peripherals anymore. That's sort of how I feel about this game and Scribblenauts. I can't help but wonder why I need to play this game when Scribblenauts seems like a better version of it and it's coming out at around the same time.
Im not sure what "new user" has to do with a damn avatar, im an old user and I still dont use one. Whats the big deal with avatars anyway, I dont see the purpose.
Yes Im a new user, sorry about the double post thou. I like the dtoid avatar
don`t get piss if i don`t like this game.. personal opionion I respect whoever is gonna play it but trowing holes and stairs in a standard 2d platformer doesnt get me exited at all..
"looks gay to me.. don`t get piss if i don`t like this game.. personal opionion I respect whoever is gonna play it but trowing holes and stairs in a standard 2d platformer doesnt get me exited at all.."
I don't think anyone here is pissed at you, for not liking the game. We all just feel sorry for you, because apparently you have no soul!

I threw that chunk of unintelligible garble into the google translation website to translate 'tardlish' to 'english' and this is what came out:
"I like to get teabagged in Halo 3. Its the only reason I play that or any other game, to get teabagged by 13 year olds who call me fag and various other slurs, homophobic, racial or otherwise. I really get off on having my virtual representation of me killed repeatedly and then a face full of virtual pretend balls from another player smashed upon my corpse's face. This is why I cannot comprehend enjoying a fun and clever platforming game with a unique artistic style, I clearly have no desire to actually play games with their intended purpose. Moar virtual teabagging from hate-filled little shitheads, please."
...there might be some errors in translation there, but I think I get the gist.
I LOVE everything except the signs telling you what to do, it's meant to be a puzzle game :3 I hope you can turn them off or have them very quickly taper off from the game altogether. The hugs and calls are so adorable. Any game with calls brings me happy memories of Ico so that helps :)
Sean said in the video that the signs are only there in the
start of the game to get the player used to the mechanics, then he said
that they start to disappear. That should answer your questions about that.
I cant wait for this game. Day 1 purchase for me. It's about time someone proved that with the current generation of consoles they can finally do 2D the way that it is supposed to be done. I know in another article Wayforward was saying that they could barely fit all the animations and game content on one Wii disc.
I would have never expected to see a new game for A Boy & His Blob but it looks like it's coming a long nicely. Kinda wonder how annoying the "hey!" and "Blob!" will get after a while but overall still looks fun.
I DONT KNOW HOW MANY TIMES WAYFORWARD HAS TO SAY IT ON ALL THEIR INTERVIEWS, BUT NO!!!! ITS A FULL WII DISC RELEASE. THEY SAID BEFORE THAT THEY ALMOST COULDNT EVEN FIT ALL THE ANIMATIONS AND OTHER GAME ELEMENTS ONTO A WII DISC!! THE MODERN VIDEO GAME SYSTEMS FINALLY LETS STUDIOS LIKE WAYFORWARD DO 2D IN A VERY REALISTIC WAY THAT IN MY OPINION IS BETTER THEN 3D GRAPHICS. I MEAN I LOVE 3D AS WELL, BUT I THINK THERE ARE NUMEROUS GAMES THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF THEY HAD HAD THIS KIND OF 2D TREATMENT. HOPEFULLY DEVELOPERS WILL REALIZE THAT TRIPLE AAA TITLES THAT FIT BETTER WITH 2D CAN BE STRONGER THEN 3D IN SOME CASES. I THINK IT ALL HAS TO DO WITH THE GAME, AND DEVELOPERS SHOULD START SEEING THAT ITS NOT ABOUT 2D OR 3D BUT HOW YOU USE IT AND IF IT WORKS WITH A SPECIFIC GAME IDEA BETTER.
Even though the kid moaning from their hug implies something completely different, I can't help but find that adorable. So far, it's shaping up to be a gorgeous and fun game.

Hopefully the game has enough variation and nice puzzles to keep intrested till end.
This game is definitely on my must-have list.
Wonderful video Colette. I'm very excited to play this when it comes out.

Ha ha! Nice. Really, man...
What a soulless, sanctimonious sonofabitch.
The tangerine jellybean is next.
It won't hold your hand the whole way. It's just easing you into the jellybean mechanic. You'll have beans you don't know WTF to do with.
I'm sure Colette's updates will bare that out. Can't wait!

Hugging the blob was just too damn cute.
Isn't this a wiiware, thus impossible to pre-order?
