Destructoid/Blast Works level design contest UPDATE: Zycyzyx Returns photo

Only one entry in the contest this week, but it doesn't matter because it would have beaten any other competitors anyway. Zxcyzyx, previously only available in preview form, is now complete, and it's fantastic. Two bosses, multiple power ups, hidden "Score bags", amazing art direction, and three Legendary Wings inspired ships made specifically for this level make the total package equal to or greater than anything found in the Blast Works main game. BudCat, I think you just found a new employee.

Please don't let the greatness on Zxcyzyx intimidate the rest of you from entering the contest. You still have a chance to win it all, little guy! I'm still waiting to see a level with a playable SpaceCat ship and a Mr. Destructoid boss fight.

"Why even bother?"

Because it's fun to create stuff in the Blast Works editor. Even better, you can use existing objects from the Blast Works Depot website and just mix together your own level (so the difficulty of creating from scratch is lessened). Finally, there is more free stuff to be had for second and third place entries...

That said, I haven't gotten an entry in yet - although I still hope to find enough time before the contest ends. How many weeks are left?

Hmm, Ive just bought the game today and have found this contest and started an account here.
Ive got till the end of the month to make an awsome stage with a giant robot and a cat in a space suit.

Ive played enough Arcade shooters with giant robots in them to be able to do it.
But is there enough time?
And does the Xycyxcxy remake still to confusing and astounding to beat?
Toon in next week to see if the new guy can do it.
Providing July 31st is indeed the end date...

Yes, the name is supposed to be difficult to pronounce. I like to say it like 'ZikZikZik'for stupidity's sake. :)

(Then again, I could never figure out how to say Xexyz.)

I finished another ship for the level recently (just in time, I suppose!) - Trux2.
