Desktop Dungeons finally sees full release on November 7

4:30 PM on 10.29.2013

It has been ages since we first learned that the bite-sized puzzle roguelike Desktop Dungeons would be getting a full release, and it certainly has come a long way from the original freeware version in the time it has spent in beta. The title is gearing up for its Steam release on November 7 by offering a 10% discount for pre-orders, bringing the cost down from $14.99 to $13.49.

Be warned: Desktop Dungeons can be incredibly addictive. Since each run lasts only fifteen minutes or so, it is easy to fall into the Civilization-esque "just one more" trap, losing hours upon hours of time in the end. The progression of unlocking new races and classes only exacerbates this. I am equal parts excited for the full release and fearful that I will be reduced to a puddle of mush from doing nothing but playing this. Again.

Review: Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair

Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc was an intelligent riff on the perils of high school -- you know, if you had thrown a murder mystery in between classes and the principal was a maniacal stuffed animal. Its sequel, Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair, takes a beleaguered trope and turns it on its head. This is one "trapped on a desert island" story that takes things to another level entirely.more

In the third part of our ongoing investigative series on what it would be like if heavy metal pioneer Ronnie James Dio was, in fact, a mage in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. In this installment, we forget more lyrics, and Max's girlfriend gets home from work, only to find a very special surprise waiting for her. Is it tacos? (Yes. That's exactly what it is.)more
