The thing about horror games is, you can usually classify them into a handful of labels. Survival horror is the most popular and most titles fall under that umbrella, but some have suggested "combat horror" as a branch of the same tree (in which the character you play is not your average helpless citizen). While I like what I'm getting when I buy a horror title, I usually know what I'm going to be doing.
Eternal Darkness turned all those concepts upside down for me, and it still sits proudly as one of my personal favorites thanks to some ingenious ways of scaring the player. Imagine my excitement, then, at this comment from Dennis Dyack, head of Silicon Knights, in regards to the future of the Eternal Darkness series:
"There is a chance; we love all the games we work on. We don't want to be pigeon-holed [into a genre], we want to be known for strong content...There's a strong chance we'll return to it, but there's no announcements yet."
Of course, Silicon Knights has their hands full with Too Human right now, but it's awfully pleasant to think that there might be a future with more Eternal Darkness in it. Although if they come up with something equally as hair-raising as the Sanity Meter again, I think i might have to wear a diaper to my first playthrough.

I need to play this though. He was pretty much raping it every time I saw him playing it.
Ring the bells.
Please on Wii. there's a speaker, there's motion controls that can go wacky, there's a nunchuck connecter that they can convince you isn't working, there's battery power that won't really be depleted . . .
Do freaking Want.
I haven´t finished the first one yet, but this game is soooooo awesome. I would even say that it is the best game on the gamecube (yeah I played Resident Evil 4)
This would be fine, but I would just want them to do a really stylized ED sequel, not a realistic one. Know what I'm saying?
calling up blades when they don't need to be up
false. friends online. sending you creepy messages. voice messages.
ok. I'll take a 360 port also.
Dont know if you were making a Resident Evil pun there or not. Made me chuckle at least :)
Or False Wii Messages, Fake channels, messages in the middle of the night,umm... anything else?
To this day, ED is still one of favorite games. period.
That was the first thing I thought of too. Fake Invites from people who actually are online, you open it, it's an invitation to DIE. It counts down your achievement points a little bit, maybe even spelling things out with the numbers. When you save, it shows that it's saving over the file for a different game, like it's saving over your Halo 3 file or Lost Odyssey file or something. Randomly kicks on a song from your custom soundtrack but messes with the speed and pitch.
360 PLZ
@Fana7ic:
EPIC WIN.
Also, stay away from the bathtubs.
::walls bleed::
Resident Evil pun intended?
