Still playing this. I'll play the new releases for a week but I keep going back to my Demon's Souls.
I want this game, but it's still $70 everywhere I go. Does anyone think this is going to be in the greatest hits collection?
That's it? Have you seen the sales history for From Software games? This is a blockbuster by their standards. And the VG Chartz listings have this at almost double that number to date, so who knows.
Namco is also hoping the same thing will happen for them. They are publishing Demon's Souls in Europe.
I love this game. I'm kind of on a rotation between being addicted to this, MAG, and Valkyria Chronicles.
Yet, Sega says MadWorld was a flop a nearly half a million sold.

Whenever I hear people going on about this game I keep wanting to hand them a copy of Shiren the Wanderer DS. Now that you won't cry about dying in a game, here's something a little more challenging.
You know it's weird. I understood that the game was doing "well" but I was under the impression that well was a million plus. You've got games like Heavenly Sword that sell a million + and don't even make a profit. Anyway, I'm glad things worked out for Atlus.
Couldn't count how many times my friends talked about this game.

I'm scared to play this game because I know the crushing difficulty is going to suck me in and consume all my free time until I've Platinum'ed it :(.
I absolutely adore Demon's Souls, though I think it's a shame Sony owns it. Thing would sell like mad on the XBOX, I'm sure.

Always good to see the numbers outdo a publisher's prediction, regardless whether or not a number like that seems small to them.
Yo Atlus thanks for releasing it in Europe sometime this year. Did you have such low expectations you thought Europeans would hate it or something?

First of all, good for Atlus.
Second of all, the number isn't bad considering marketing dollars spent and the fact Demon's Souls was already on the Japanese market well before Atlus got their hands on it. Couple that the fact that it hasn't sold in Europe yet (although it will by Namco).
Point being, these numbers aren't bad when you put everything in the proper context.

PS3 owners tsk...it's a sad day when a console's owners can't even make an interesting game hit half a million.

Thank you commentors for saying about Capcom publishing. (Had no idea about it) I tried to import the game and got messed around by a shitty company (called gamesbasement id advise everyone in the UK to NEVER use them)who wouldn't even refund my money for months.
I'm so glad its coming but with atlus having fucked the european market around so much after Buying demon souls I doubt Ill buy another game they publish. So I aint getting 3d Dot Game Heros. One sale they missed out on due to them publishing as if it was the nineties and it was a PS1 game.

I have this, I still need to get to it though, it looks pretty awesome! I'm guessing its pretty time consuming though going by the difficulty.

No matter what new game comes out, no matter the hype, I just play them, sometimes I finish them, and then I go back to Demon's Souls... I still don't know what it is, but it's just like videogame crack for me.
To those still on the fence due to the butt-raping rumors about the game: Don't be afraid, it only hurts at first, but you learn the trick and enjoy it a lot.

Its good to see a small publisher, getting dues for believing in a game. Atlus are very good at picking titles to release.

Many 360 gamers have had the Ninja Gaiden games, which give a similar insane degree of difficulty. Didn't stop that selling so much, that it ended up getting a PS3 version.
A good game is a good game, and should be judge as such, on its merits, regardless of what its on.

I can't stress enough how awesome this news is. I hope it still sells a ton more in the EU. I can't believe it has taken this long. I am sure imports have cannibalized its market a bit, but I imagine it will still sell extremely well. Above expectations even. :-) This is easily one of the most brilliant games in years made even moreso because of it being a total surprise!!!
