A few days ago, Sony revealed that a special Christmas treat was coming to Demon's Souls (my personal Game of the Year), and we speculated that the game's world of Boletaria would be drenched in a Pure White tendency for a limited amount of time. Turns out Destructoid was right -- for the Holiday period, Demon's Souls will be going easy on its victims, as the world turns to Pure White.
For those not in the know, Pure White tendency is what happens in levels where players have managed to perform specific feats and shifted the realm toward a lighter path, free of the Old One's malicious grip. In game terms, it means enemies are weaker and gamers are stronger while in Soul Form. Additionally, extra NPCs show up to help out adventurers, while new paths in the game are unlocked.
The Pure White event starts at 12pm PST on December 21 and will last until December 28 PST. If you're struggling on a particular Archdemon or need to get a specific item, it seems that now would be the perfect time to get back to Boletaria and kick some ass.

However, I already have done the painful task of reaching Pure White in every world in order to reach the special NPCs and their weapons... But maybe on a new character, just for the lulz? I'd rather have another Pure Black day like Halloween so I can farm crystal lizards for more ore! Though I do understand that Christmas is supposed to be "goodly-white".

@CaLeDee: This is onlyfor the US version, yes. Atlus USA only has control over their own server.
Also, be aware that not all of the NPC's who show up in PWWT are helpful. At least one will attack you on sight, and another will attack you if you fulfill certian conditions.
I hope they dont have messed up implementation like they did with Pure Black Halloween which really was reload the stage -1 tendancy each time.
PureWhite is kind of useless as most of the best items you can get are either from the boss souls are from getting ores (easier on pure black). Also, you'll miss the black phantoms and primeval demons (upgrade rare items) if it sets to pure white. Plus, XP sucks on pure white.
All you'll miss is Bramd, Token of Vinland, Matoko, Isaterelle, DBS and the Brushwood Set as well as some other token armor that is nowhere near as good as the ancient King armor.
Ahh, gotcha. Well that makes me feel slightly better; and to be honest, I've been so busy lately between Borderlands and hanging out with humans in meatworld that I haven't even been able to get to Demon's Souls. Still I enjoy the game enough that I am just curious to experience what the 'pure white' environment is like, even if it is completely meh.
Maybe I can sneak some time on Monday...
