I'll probably be getting Demon's Souls this week, but I'm not sure if the tendency thing is a good thing. The game is going to be easier, then kick my ass to the curb and rape me a few days later. I'm looking forward to that!

Oh yeah. I frickin love events like this. Will have to tear myself away from the awesomeness of Dark Souls to dive in for some last minute killing and dying. :)

Maybe I'm not far enough yet or I'm just a lot more cautious, but Dark Souls is going a lot smoother for me. (I still die a lot though.)

The game isn't that hard once you learn how to use the roll properly, target lock, and use the critical hits from the back.
Funny when new players where full armor and throw themselves into the ground and thereforth dismissing the roll as a necessary combat maneuver.

demon's souls is still one of my most favorite games of all time, it is so good, challenging, and just brutal. Dark souls hasnt captured that spirt quite yet for me, but I'm only 8 hrs in.
I'm really digging Dark Souls,but Demon Souls has something that Dark Souls doesn't...Maiden Astraea,Garl Vinland and the creepy ass babies.

@Martin Montiel: Atlus was only publisher of Demon's Souls and only for the US, Sony and Namco Bandai were the publishers for Japan and EU.
I have the Demon's Souls Black Phantom Edition (EU) with art book, walkthrough and soundtrack, which was a very nice deal
So the change of publisher shouldn't make much difference to the Dark Souls experience

I need to platinum this game... I need the Honour Amongst Geeks... Only 3 more increasingly diffuclt playthroughs needed, using my very badly levelled character...
World tendency always confused me. Is the offline/online tendency different, or is it online only. From what I gathered, the more you die in an area, the further it shifts to black, and the less you die, shifts more to white.but with forced shifting on the servers, I guess it doesn't matter what you do, its in the dev's hands
@orangearmy; what creepy babies do you mean? Which area were they in? I put over 9o hrs into demons souls(2 years ago) and can't seem to remember any babies
Nvm, just looked them up.they were in the valley of defilement. So who else was hoping the last crumbled stone pillar/level entrance in the nexus was going to eventually open up, or be accessible via dlc. I know everybody who saw it at least wondered about it. Even though it never did, we all got something much better in a (spiritual)sequel
Having fun, and trouble going through Dark Souls since I keep getting cursed...and that is NOT fun. So I may take this "Dark tendency" period up for a go when it comes by.
I just slipped this baby back into my PS3 to give it another try in preparation for Dark Souls. This time I'll finish it!
@Magnalon Wow really? Good job. I havent beaten it yet but I seem to be progressing much faster through Dark souls. I never completed demon's souls because i just kept hitting a wall every time i played it but Dark souls is going smoothly (yes i still die a lot)

So far Dark Souls is much easier for me.
The trick to Demons Souls is to learn the layouts of the levels, level up properly, and get the right weapons and gear for your build. Not that difficult once you do that. I would even say that the game gets easier as you get closer to the end.

Demon Souls is all about progression. As long as you're leveling up or killing a demons you're good. It gets frustrating when you invest a bunch of time in a level and then die.

@harkmamill Yeah i have a royal build in demon's souls right now whos about halfway through but i bungled the dragon's soul use and now i cant get the firestorm spell so i might have to start over again lol.
I just bought the limited edition of Dark Souls and hopefully within an hour I will have my ass handed to me!

Using all white to get to good soul farming spots in NG++++, then grinding like crazy with Soul Thirst and Ring of Avarice for two weeks in all black!
I want to try this game, but is it too late? With the server closing next year and the sequel being out now?
