Due to some kind of manufacturing delay, Dementium II has been pushed back from its February 16 release. We can now expect the handheld survival horror title to come out on April 20, 2010.
Jools Watsham, the creative director over at Renegade Kid, talks about the issue among other things in his video blog above. Jools does a lot of video blogs and it's a good source of information for all the things Renegade is working on. Plus, Jools' voice is pretty soothing. He could put a baby being attacked by a colony of fire ants to sleep!
Hamza Aziz, Destructoid's Community Director, has been here since day one. He was born when a tiger coughed up a hairball into a pool of ooze. He was one of the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles before budget cuts. Hamza works as a previews editor and manages a team in San Francisco. To date he has given away tens of thousands of dollars in prizes to readers. What a dick. Actually, Hamza is as kind as he is hairy.

Meet the rest of the team
Honestly, I dig Renegade Kid. No, they aren't the greatest devs out there, but they make fun games. They have a small team of really only a handful of people, and they do a damn good job. Dementium was a fun, but flawed game. Moon was a fun, but flawed in different ways, game. If Dementium II takes the best parts from both games, it will really be an amazing DS game.
Demntium had the story, atmosphere, etc, but the map and saving system sucked.
Moon had a terrible story, and the atmosphere was mediocre at best. But the graphics, control, map, saving system, etc, was much improved.
Both games were still fun. I'm definitely looking forward to DII. Jools, best of luck with this!
Renegade Kid is one of my favorite developers right now, and I'm still not sure why. I think it's a combination of their good games and their special style.
Those guys always remind me of the Atari programmers from back in the day. Graphically, what they're doing doesn't look good compared to a PSP or I-Phone. But in terms of the amount of juice they're squeezing out of a DS? They're f***ing rocket scientist smart. There was a great interview where they were talking about counting pixels and organizing the monsters so there was no lag based on which ones took up the most processing power.
Kinda makes me wish they'd program for the Wii or something.
Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
