Dementium 2 screens look suitably blood-soaked photo

The first Dementium was everything I wanted in a portable horror game with one exception: dying meant having to restart the level, and after dozens of tries I would get sick of getting stuck and end up having to take a break from playing for a while. I have a feeling Dementium 2 will likely improve on this formula, and considering the blood-drenched state of these new gameplay photos, I'm pretty much 100 percent in for playing the sequel.

The game is still slated for early 2010 release. I'm wondering what things might change and what might stay the same from the first chapter in the series. Are you interested in this, or is portable horror not exactly your cup of tea?

Ewww.

Hideous.

Graphics shouldn't matter, but when you make a 3-D game on a system that can't handle 3-D graphics they actually IMPEDE gameplay by being so distractingly awful.

I love my DS (Devil Survivor is AMAZING) but this isn't what it's for.

I agree with psywolf that there needs to be more survival horror games on a portable platform. I am still waiting on a decent port of RE1 for the PSP perhaps. All though I think a decent map and inventory system would work better on the DS .

Hideous? The graphics look just as good as any PS1 or N64 game which is about what the DS is capable of pushing out.

@ Dinnertimeninja:
Don't be too harsh, if it's anything like the original it'll look pretty terrible in stills but really quite good in motion. It has a lot to do with the lighting.

I too am in support of more handheld survival horror! SH:O and RE:DS aren't enough. At the very least more horror-themed games (like Little Red Riding Hood's Zombie BBQ) would be nice.

Very nice response. I do agree that a survival horror game for a handheld system like the DS is an idea that most developers don't like to touch on. It's not that I'm saying there aren't choices out there, just saying that, in exception to this, most games of this genre aren't seen often to succeed on a portable system. Kudos to the beard.
