You know what roleplaying series kicked arse on the PlayStation 2? Shadow Hearts! You know what series deserves to be remastered in HD for the PS3's "Classics" line? Shadow Hearts! You know it makes sense.
Shadow Hearts was never the most refined series, but its dark and often bizarre storyline, combined with an engaging turn-based battle system, made it a firm favorite with myself and many others. It had a really good, unique soundtrack and the first two games especially rank among my favorite Japanese RPGs.
If I could pick an unsung series for an HD upgrade, it'd most certainly be Shadow Hearts. Publisher Aruze mostly makes gambling games for arcades these days, but I'm sure it could make a bit of coin in getting this made.
Let it officially be known that the DEMAND is there!

Shadow Hearts 1 has quite an early-PS2-gen feel and polish to it, it would need quite a lot of work to make it an appealing HD conversion.
It's going to be quite challenging to put the original team back together for the HD remasters though. As you know, the original developers (Nautilus) are not around anymore, but remaining members formed feelplus which are also technically not an entity after they've been recently dissolved into AQ Interactive...who are also going to be dissolved after going through a merger with Marvelous Entertainment.
Phew. I bet the original developers are going to be hard to pinpoint after all that. Still though, I really want Aruze to breathe life into Shadow Hearts again. XSEED can bring it over to us English-speaking fans, too.
Seriously, where else do you find a Gay Vampire Super Hero Wrestler that uses objects ranging from Sharks, to Postal Boxes, and Totem poles?
Or a wolf that sneaks around ala Metal Gear Solid?
Or a hot, German Red-head that utilizes Wagnerian movements from the Ring Cycle as movements for her special attacks?
It's a crying shame more weren't made instead of the traditional nonsense!
If I had some millions to spare around, I would invest in a remake where they fix the story. There's a video on the internet where Nicholai and Karin are shown as protagonists. There's some statements by the creator in one of the artbooks where it comes from as they had different ideas for the plot, but maybe due to time and money, they had to hastily decide on something that not many people like - Karin's becoming a certain guy's mother. I would scrap that off.
I'd buy fucking ten if it helped get this idea off the ground - accompanying Karen Koenig and Yuri Hyuga models as well, please.

IMO, they shit all over FFX in terms of creating a legitimate love story and creating tragedy.
Shame the third game was so damn average though it did manage to be amusing at times as well. Plus, well, Shania is just female deliciousness incarnate.
While I want Yuri back, I've no qualms with Shania, Frank and Ricardo returning in some capacity. Shania playable, the others doing cameos.

I'm debating getting another PS2 as my old one is near enough broken just so i can play some decent JRPG's again.
Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey and Tales of Vesperia are all well and good but only three games that i would consider as decent JRPGs on the 360 (not sure about the PS3 but i havn't read of any others)in how many years?!
