Delicious new Gran Turismo 5 pics and news photo
     screenshots
The 'semi-official' blog ThreeSpeech has posted some very official-looking new Gran Turismo 5 screenshots/eyecandy.

A few of the images show an in-car views from the drivers seats of a Ferrari and Audi, and even one with an over-the-shoulder rear view. That Ferrari has a terrible blind spot! There are also a couple that show parked cars in photo-realistic settings, much like the GT5 trailer did.

Granted, we need to see how this plays (TGS, perhaps?), but there's no denying that these screens are gorgeous. Well, except for the 'Atari flashback' in the rear view mirror of this picture. What's up with that?

In other Gran Turismo 5 news, Sony repsonds to rumors that the title will include 1,000 vehicles:

“Despite news articles claiming that ‘SCEI/Polyphony Digital’ have made an official announcement with regards to GT5 featuring 1000 vehicles, we can confirm that this is pure speculation. It would appear that the list is a mixture of vehicles that were included in previous GT titles, coupled with somebody’s own fantasy garage.

Further details about GT5 will be announced in due course, but for the moment at least, we can confirm that the current car list/speculation, does not come from SCE.”

It turns out that the site that first posted the news admits that the list was fake.

I'm not a fan of racing games, but GT5 looks unreal.

It looks great, but what did we expect from GT? The 1000 cars is including downloadable cars btw, the main game ships with 340-ish cars I believe?

If only fun racing games like Burnout looked like this.

Looks amazing... and will play like shattered glass being forced down your gullet.

Such a shame.

@ relik

Thank you. Also, those couple of shots on the cobblestone street are photo mode screenshots...that always looks much better than the actual racing does.

NextGen is upscaling 720p games to 1080i... which every HD device does except to POS3

@gamerz: If everyone device does it... why doesn't your TV?

*on a serious note, I thought that was taken care of in a previous update? It doesn't affect me since I have a 1080p tv, so I really haven't researched it...

I'm with all the PS3 owners here
1080i? Who wants lower resoultions than 1080p
Also did the 360 have anything with as many cars? no
Any games that good looking? no
1080p at launch? no
Forza is microsofts attempt at this. If this is like having glass forced dwon your mouth. Forza is like having glass forced in your rectum while acid is going down your throat with 360 fanboys ruling the world. So in actuality GT > Forza
Get over it fanboys this is better than your crap 360 racing games

When are racing games gonna add fog, wind with leaves blowing around. bugs hitting your car. seriously! I'm getting tired of these static tracks. Yes pretty envioronment, but the atmosphere is always plain. Real life isn't like that. Check out the wind in the Subway map of Gears of War. That's what I'm talking about. That's what so many next gen games are missing. It's why HALO3 hasn't impressed me yet.
