Falcom. It's one of those names that either gets a "what? who is that?" or a silent, respectful and approving nod. I've been giving that nod constantly ever since Jim told us that Brandish is coming to the PSP. My neck hurts now.
Brandish: The Dark Returning is dungeon crawling goodness, now returning in glorious 3D. Check out the video above. It shows a massive visual progression from the old Super Nintendo game of the same name. Watch (in Japanese) as buzzwords like "real time" and "item" come across the screen in this action RPG promo video.
I hope I won't be going through those ball-busting traps with the PSP's analog nub, though. That could be a deal breaker. Otherwise, this is right up my alley. And maybe yours.
It's coming out March 19th in Japan. I hope someone picks it up for a US release.

I'll get interested when there's a US announcement. Although I'll say that I'm not too thrilled with Falcom's other games. I've played Ys 1-3 and while they all had spectaculra music, the gameplay just compeltely turned me off.
I do like my Rogue-likes though, and from what I've heard this plays like one. So we'll see.
