Defender's Quest headed to Steam and other platforms soon photo

Every so often, a tower defense title is able to pull me in, utterly disrupting my ability to function as a productive member of society. One of the more recent games to claim that victory was Defender's Quest, which not nearly enough of you played.

It has since received a substantial amount of new content, including a new game+ mode, support for mods, additional maps and sidequests, and perhaps best of all, upgraded graphics. I had intended to write up some thoughts on this stuff for a while now, but I haven't yet been able to find the time to even play the new-and-improved Defender's Quest, unfortunately.

Why even bring it up? Because the game is coming to Steam, Desura, Impulse, GamersGate, and GOG.com on October 30, 2012. Some of you aren't always so into buying independent releases outside of the ones found on these platforms, which I totally get. Know that this is one to keep an eye on -- especially with all of the free updates that followed our original review.

Review: Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten

Certain genres more than others can be forgiven when skimping on narrative. I would argue that tower defense games can readily get away this without receiving many complaints, since the act of massacring enemy troops tends to...more

Tower defense meets RPG in ambitious Defender's Quest

Defender's Quest: Valley of the Forgotten feels like it was designed by people who really understand what makes the tower-defense genre enjoyable, and how it can be improved. Elements normally found in role-playing games are...more

Conflicks has a great alternate history setup with anachronistic space colonialism

Did you know that Leonardo da Vinci discovered MetaMatter? Well, not in real life, but in the universe of Conflicks he did. It turns out all it takes is to separate a chicken egg's yolk from its albumen, and to heat up the y...more

Frozen Endzone renamed Frozen Cortex, Mac and Linux versions available

Frozen Endzone, the tactical robo-sport from the developers of Frozen Synapse, has officially been renamed. The new name is Frozen Cortex, and I've taken the liberty of making a new logo for it. The rename is taking place bec...more

Review: Squids Odyssey

Splatoon might be getting a lot of hype for Wii U squid battling, but it is not the first game featuring a squid squad to grace the console. Earlier this year, Squids made its jump from iOS to the Wii U with Squids Odyssey, a...more
