Def Leppard to be in a game photo

Fun fact: Def Leppard is not a cat. Fun Fact: Def Leppard is slated to star in a videogame.

Reuters is reporting that the band has penned an agreement with Primary Wave -- an interesting move for two reasons: (a) no one under 60 cares about the band and (b) this new publishing partner isn’t aware of this. Odd as it is, the deal isn’t just to pump out CDs. Apparently a cartoon and an “unusual” videogame are in the works.

We don’t anything about this supposed videogame. But Guitar Hero: Van Halen exists and that means this could totally happen. We’ll pretend to care in the meanwhile.

On the one hand it's about fucking time as DefLep fans having been bitching about this since GH2. On the other hand DefLep sucks ass.

Oh whatever. Wake me up when Rock Band 3 comes out. I don't have time to critique all these fucking games and the bands they choose to promote. I am a bit surprised Acti isn't talking up Guitar Hero by now. They might actually be serious about letting up on releasing a new one every week.

Hey! I saw Def Leppard live years ago, was an amazing gig! Sure we were the youngest there by far, but that just meant people we're awesome to us!

Still though, a game? I'll be a curious eye on this one.

Yeah I know. And I the lone defender of Guitar Hero. :P It doesn't neccesarily make fanboyism easy let me tell ya.

The last GH was Van Halen which came out Christmas week. They haven't talked up a new Guitar Hero since last summer. They say they're gonna whore it out a little less this year.

I just fucking want Rock Band 3 already god dammit!

Psh... Def Leppard are great 80s hair rock.

You all just suck to much to understand their 9 armed greatness.

60? They were at their height in the 80's- I liked them when "Hysteria" came out and I was in elementary school...shit, high schoolers that liked them then are in their 40's at oldest now.

I never like Def Leppard, but my sister did. I got into to Poison and Warrant briefly, but it was very brief...

Hopefully, you mean Def Leppard before they turned into The Bryan Adams Tribute Band:/

As long as they only include songs from Hysteria and Pyromania then I love it. Now if only they come out with a way to play with only one arm...

Would much rather be able to download their songs than have a whole game. I mean REO Speedwagon should get a game before Def Leppard.

More accurately, it should be 35, not 60. Pyromania was huge in the early 80s when I was a kid.

And 25 years later, they still get played on the radio, which is more than can be said for pretty much any rock group formed since 2000...

I don't know if Def Leppard are really worthy of a music game, but this could end up being something like Aerosmith with Revolution X...in that case horrible.

Can't say I've ever been into Def Leppard or have any opinion on whether they are a good band or not.

Although I will say in Brutal Legend, the song "Rock Of Ages" worked well in the mines level early in the game, even if it was one of the few songs in the game that is more just a rock song instead of metal.

a) is an incorrect assumption...I am 47 and DO care about Def Leppard (ok...I care about the albums released in 1987 or earlier, the earlier the better).

If you want to hear Def Leppard at their best, listen to High n Dry. Anyone that can listen to that, claim to like Heavy Metal / Rock and say they suck has no idea what talent is.

On 14 June 2009 Def Leppard headlined Download Festival 2009, During their performance Joe Elliott dedicated their entire show to drummer Rick Allen, and they had told the audience that their appearance at Donington Park's Monsters of Rock Festival in 1986 was Rick's first major show since he lost his arm and that day marked Def Leppard's re-birth as a result of the support they received from their audience. Their subsequent return to Donington Park for 2009's Download Festival marked a return to where the band had considered their spiritual home. What followed was yet another emotionally charged ovation from the 80,000 strong crowd as they threw their support for Rick Allen, lasting well over five minutes of their headlining performance.
