Dead Island

Deep Silver offering 'make up' plan for Dead Island PC

8:00 AM on 09.07.2011 // Jim Sterling
  @JimSterling

It's not quite so bad as this year's PSN outage, but Deep Silver has issued an apology for the myriad issues surrounding Dead Island on PC, and is planning to offer something by way of apology. Those affected by the launch day screw up -- which saw gamers downloading a broken "debug" version of the game -- will be getting a treat in the near future.

The correct version of Dead Island is now available for download, and users are urged to get it ASAP, especially as their save files on the dev build won't be preserved. Deep Silver has said that, while saves will be wiped, a character's chapter progress should be intact, so gamers can at least hop a little further into the game rather than start entirely from scratch.

Codes for the downloadable "Ripper" weapon currently aren't working, and Deep Silver is aware of it. A future patch will resolve this, and is hopefully coming soon. The promised "Bloodbath" DLC is still on track and will be available to those with codes on a yet-to-be-announced date.

After all the hype, it's a shame that Dead Island's launch has been such a complete clusterf*ck. That's Techland for you, though. I hope at least some people are having fun with it, because there is fun underneath all the mess.

10 hours into the Witness, I've solved 350 puzzles, and activated 8 lasers. So, that's about 35 puzzles an hour, I think that's a pretty good pace. I have no idea how many more puzzles there are, but I think I'll be getting towards the first ending soon.

Shoot, I have made the awful mistake of watching 50 First Dates while doing Comments of the Week. The comedy in the beginning gave me energy, but all of the sad drama is making me cry and it's hard to see through all the tears. WHY YOU DO THIS TO ME!? 8^8

Kotobukiya's making a Xenoblade Chronicles X Formula skell model that looks great but I'd rather have a Lailah model. And I would name it Tharja just like my Lailah in the game.

Damn you, TV Tropes. As if I wasn't already dead set against doing an Undertale genocide run, this has killed the possibility for me.

Yep, Spyro: Enter the Dragonfly is still as bad and unpolished as I remember it. Still manages to give me a headache too due to the choppy framerate.

Eye of the Beholder (2014) - Possible boss battle theme for a video game. Love the action strings and bell instrument. I wrote this song for 2AD14 - II, which has many great tracks on it. This one is one of my favorites, which is why I'm sharing it.
