Wow 505 Games, you guys really know how to pick your artists. This is the cover art for a new game from the publisher famous for giving us IL2-Sturmovik and Hotel for Dogs: The Game. It's called Deep Black, and if you saw it on a shelf, you could easily confuse it with something else.
According to my research (looking on Google for a bit), Deep Black is a third-person-shooter from Russian developer Biart Studio. Despite what the box looks like, it's actually nothing like Platinum Games' Vanquish, as it's centered around underwater combat. In fact, it's got more in common with XBLA's Undertow.
So, is this an innocent coincidence, or is a certain publisher hoping to pick up some extra sales from confused gamers picking up the wrong box? We can't say for sure, but it's pretty amusing either way.

Also, does anyone else think that "Deep Black" sounds like the name of a cheap porno flick?
Plus on the Deep Black cover it looks like he's shooting at something that has caused him to fall over, rather than sliding across the ground shooting.
If anything it looks like Master Chief fell in to the boxart for Cold Fear.

Also. I believe 505 games are responsible for morph x. Just a heads up and a prediction of quality for deep black
Also, Vanquish was a game I didn't like.
You would have to be pretty dumb to pick up one game in place of another seeing as the names of both games are at the top if the cases in BIG BOLD LETTERS.
Though if you're going to mimic a cover in hopes of confusing people, at least use a game that was actually successful.

Nah. I love hard games, (Super Meat Boy, Bayonetta, DKCR, earthworm Jim) but I found vanquish to be....dull. which is odd because I adore Platinum Games.

Unfortunately when in retail, you cannot see the trailer orgameplay of what is on the shelf, just the cover.

Could be people are just sharing their opinion just like you did yours.
There's a difference between people sharing conflicting opinions and you taking it as a personal attack.
Well I am being personally attacked by people saying "oh you don't like hard games" or "oh you're casual because you think these games are hard".
A game isn't good because it's difficult. I felt that Vanquish's mediocracy couldn't be overshadowed on how hard it is....its dull.
But again: Opinions, we have them.
2 people (not counting myself) have directly spoken to you and both have been in a joking and pleasant manner. Everybody else is just speaking their opinion.
