FUCKIN ZING!
The demo felt like one of those cheap foreign developed games like MorphX.
A 1.0 would imply that the game is virtually unplayable or Drake of the 99 Dragons/Chicago Enforcer bad (which I don't recall ever even being rated this low by any major publications, btw).
The game is a solid 6.0 at worse.
The Black Ops PC review, which was pretty much broken at launch on this website, is a better designed product than this? I don't know, this game is underwhelming, but it is definitely doesn't deserve this score.
The shooting mechanics are decent, graphics look great and offers some generic fun for around 6 hours. Its just incredibly mediocre.

Not sure if serious. The controls are stiff and hit detection needs tuning, but they're by no means game-breaking (like a Chicago Enforcer or Turning Point).
By this logic, Killzones' 2&3 should be scored 1.0s.
The score is not hyperbole. I feel that it matches our review score descriptions. A 2 out of 10 is listed as maybe being worth grabbing in a bargain bin, and I did not feel that Deep Black is even worth that. It is a bad game. I have seen one review that was somewhat favorable, and in my opinion the reviewer didn't play anything more than the demo from what he was saying. If you really want to run out and grab this turd, I won't stop you. And if you for some reason enjoy it, then good for you.
Still didn't feel good, though. Besides atrocious checkpoints, I really hated the eel-type enemies that basically force you into (hardly-)quick time button mash fests every time, because you never get a chance to see and shoot them.
on the xbox360 leaderboards there is only around 300 players that have played probably 5 matches WOW
There was inspiration in the design. Under-water levels, for example. I think using a one out of 10 liberally will diminish the powerful message that kind of score can actually give. What happens when a totally broken, unplayable game does get released? When you score that game a one, you are putting it in the same league as this game, which as I stated above, is completely playable and includes some unique ideas.
Just because the game is bad is not enough of an excuse to give it the lowest score you can. Doing that is acting like all those Metacritic user scores, who review everything they like a 10, and everything they dislike a 1. I've played the game, and it is not a 1. It is not a good game at all. But to call this game is 1 out of 5 is absurd.
Please, in the future, take more consideration in a score like that. It should represent a broken game. The worst of the worst, a complete waste of time, ideas, and even the simplest development fundamentals. Can you REALLY say that about Deep Black?
