Decorative Wii makes our heart go aflutter photo

We know that you like videogames, or else you wouldn't be browsing right now. For some enthusiasts, games transcend the confines of hobbyist enjoyment and enter into the realm of art. Usually, this territory quickly becomes mired in too much Lara Croft or Dead or Alive characters, so it is especially refreshing to see something this elegant.

This hot little pink number is called the “Nintendo Dragon.” Elliot Ortiz created it, with inspiration apparently taken from the Wii. Futurenerd describes it as a “toy” that will serve only as a display piece for those entrenched in videogame culture.

Personally, I think it looks pretty slick. I especially enjoy the appearance of the Wii Remote and its streamlined design. If only we could all toss away our bulky controllers for something this pretty. For an additional picture that shows a side-by-side console comparison, as well as a brief description by the artist, hit the jump.

[Thanks, wardrox!]

That looks like something Spacecat brought back from an alternate future where society is ruled by 14-year-old girls. Kawai!! (*^▽^*)

If the next generation of systems doesn't look half as artistic as that does, we've failed. That shit is hot, even in pink.

It looks nice but after some thought, I think I like to be remembered that it's a machine and not a piece of art when looking at it.

That's gonna look terrible with dust on it.

Ah yes, pew has a point.
The dvd slot position makes it easy for dust to get in.

hell I wouldn't care what it was able to do or play, if one of the consoles of the next generation looks half as good as that does it's getting bought.

Eeeee. That's no Wii, that's a 26th century neo-retro toaster.

Both as a piece of art and a console, it looks like it belongs in the Miley Cyrus poster-adorned room of a twelve year old girl.

That... wasn't what I was expecting. Impressive.

I like the lines but not really the color. If it were cyan or apple green, I would be drooling, especially if the slot light were the same color.

I'll stick with my regular minimalistic Wii. I'd rather the stuff on the screen look nice than the console itself.

I wish the real Wii looked like that. I think Wii is one of the most boring looking consoles ever made.

My problem with it is multi-faceted: First, it looks almost pokemon branded. Second, that would fit with almost no decor. the 390, PS3 and Wii are all so minimalist that they fit with almost any interior design. Third: It looks like a toy. If this is something that hardcore gamers would like compared to the Wii, then that's pitiful.

1) It looks like a walking refrigerator from the 60's.

2) You can't lay it flat, which is a problem for enclosed areas.

3) Top loading is a pain.

4) Too big.

5) Most Spore creatures I've seen look better than this clunker.

hmmmmm i wonder who will buy this and break out a dremel and do a complete case mod to their wii consoles? Hell might as well go all the way and take the guts out of a wiimote and swap it with the sleek one to match! I'd do it but this thing looks more appealing to little girls and women alike.
