Dear god! The Deer God is on Kickstarter with 3D pixel art

8:00 AM on 06.24.2014

"The Deer God is a breathtaking 3D pixel art game that will challenge your religion and your platforming skills," the Kickstarter page reads. Challenge well accepted. I am incredibly good at both platformers and religion. I can't tell you how many tasteless crackers and extra lengthy swigs of Christ wine I've eaten and drunk.

While it will not beat me at religion, it does look rather nice. Staggering, even. I doen't know if I can handle it. And I'm sure once I get over the antlerning curve, I'll beat its platforming as well. We'll find out venisoon, too: January of 2015.

Anyway, when's the last time you played a game starring a deer? The noted Ecco the Dolphin inspiration is, uh, noted.

Canabalt 2.0 brings more modes and multiplayer to iOS

For the most part, I'm over endless runners, but I'll always have Canabalt. It hit at the right time and holds up well. Matter of fact, it's gotten even better with age: there's a free new update for the iOS version, out now,...more

Platformer Freedom Planet borrows from the Sega Genesis greats

Freedom Planet looks like a lost Sega Genesis gem, but it's actually a brand new action-platform game created by GalaxyTrail. I remember hearing about it a while back from Tony Ponce -- first in 2012 and again last year when...more
