Just a week ago, we brought you news that Electronic Arts' survival horror title Dead Space had its released pushed forward. Today we have more even better news: the release date has been pushed up again, this time from October 24 to October 14 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The PC version will ship on October 20.

We've also been told by Dead Space community manager Andrew Green that the title has been completely banned from the following countries: Germany, Japan, and China. That's right, there's just too much survival and way too much horror in Dead Space for these countries to handle. No word on whether EA has any plans to alter the game for a future release in those territories.

I haven't had a chance to go hands-on with Dead Space (woe is me!), but everyone I've spoken with who has only had good things to say about it. Who else is looking forward to donning the trash can-like helmet and killing some monsters?

I CANNOT WAIT FOR THIS TO DROP for the PS3! ...

They pushed the release date up i'm sure because of the fact that it got banned. Yeah, because they didn't have to print sooo many more copies. Thus speeding up the process of release.

That & before anyone else decided to ban it. lol!

Ah ha deduction my dear Watson!

@Stanfy.

I can see your point, but just awhile back in Canada, some dude got decapitated on a bus, and it\s not banned here.

still, I'm SO pumped for this game, it looks surprisingly good for an EA title.

If D-Toid is pleased, I'll be pleased.

By the Way, Dead Space is not "Banned" in germany as in "not allowed by anyone to purchase". Any adult german 18+ can buy the game just like usual from Internet stores or local stores if he asks for it "under the counter". I wish ppl would stop saying "its banned" when they refer to violent videogames being released in germany. It may not be officially released here, but it is perfectly legal to buy the UK english version or the austrian german version as an import.
