Dead Space Downfall trailer

This video has moved! Try our Destructoid HD Youtube channel Here’s a brand new trailer for Dead Space Downfall, the animated prequel for EA’s upcoming third-person action horror game Dead Space. The movie focuses on the colonists that uncover a mysterious alien relic and their subsequently violent deaths once it starts mutating them all into bloodthirsty Xenomorphs -- providing yet another example of curiosity killing the cat.

When I was watching the trailer I couldn’t help but think that the visuals closely resembled that of the recent Hellboy animated films (Sword of Storms, Blood and Iron) and, sure enough, both were drawn by same folks over at Film Roman.

Dead Space Downfall will be coming out on DVD and Blu-ray sometime around Dead Space’s Halloween release. Will you be watching this to get the “full” Dead Space experience or will you be happy with whatever back story is provided in-game?

Brilliance. I only hope it does well so that future games can have similar anime/game releases. If done right, you're doing different Otakus a great service!

I will whatch it after i player through the game. The less you know about the backstory, the more fun it is to piece it together in the game.

i just hope the game is good because for what i saw on the live gameplay at e3 it needs a little bit of more work.

I know it's going to be awesome, but this makes it look like it has the exact some story as Alien. Miners uncover aliens that eat peoples bodies and kill everyone else except for one person who has a massive gun.

@Eschatos

I agree this has "Alien" written all over it, complete with a scene where someone's torso practically explodes.

I'll probably check it out, looks like it could be either really good or really bad depending on the voice acting.
