I'm worried about this. More open environments and more players makes me think this game will focus a lot more on action.
The co-op would be infinitely more appealing if it were Isaac and Ellie. Then we could have some cool stuff going.
From those 9 leaked screenshots, it seems the co-op will be completely optional (of course) and with the other character only being there at all during said co-op.
And I'm fine with that.

Why can't we just have a single player survival horrorish game anymore? Why do we have to cram MP components into it? Why do we have to cram other genre's into it? (Even though I have less of an issue with this than the former). I just want a scary game, and adding more people into the mix dumbs that down.
Another game that will be too scary for me to ever consider playing. Anyone wanna play it for me while I watch?
As long as the co-op is legitimately optional and doesn't break the stellar single player experience I've come to expect from the Dead Space franchise, whatever, tack it on.

The thing about Dead Space for me is, I loved the second game and beat it, so then I bought the first game, and its been sitting on my shelf since I pussied out.
