Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop screens make me want to go to the mall photo

These Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop screens make me want to go to the mall... and buy the Xbox 360 version. I'm kidding, Capcom. Kidding!

While the Wii reinvention of Dead Rising may not look as great as the Xbox 360 version, it's sure to make up for that in control options. I want to bash faces with face bashing motions. Don't you? I love what Capcom did with the Wii-ification of Resident Evil 4, so if they put the same amount of work in Chop Till You Drop, then there will be no worries here. And speaking of RE4 Wii, DR:CTYD uses the same engine - a good thing in my book.

Here's a bunch of screens new for you to pick over, including plenty of weapon play. I can only image that these bats and chainsaws will be much more fun to use with Wii waggle implemented. The gun targeting looks to be similar to RE4 Wii's targeting, which would be much better than that of the original Dead Rising.

Now that they've "fixed" the game's save system, this could end up being even better than the Xbox 360 version. What do you think?

Looks interesting. But still needs more Zombies on screen...

Some of those screens show more zombies than a lot of people have argued was possible. http://www.destructoid.com/elephant/photo-m.phtml?post_key=103041&photo_key=61169 - for example

I'll, obviously, wait for reviews, but I still think Capcom can pull this off. With better controls and a better save system, this might end up being the superior version, even with shitty graphics. I'd rather have controls and better mechanics than better graphics, but I guess I might be in the minority on that.

Too bad everyone was sour grapes about the save system. I know everyone disagrees, but the save system actually posed a challenge to me. I fondly remember the game as a hard-as-nails hardcore victory. It's style was so spot-on, it bordered on art-game. The enemies showed no quarter, and every boss fight was intense.

@Cypher

I don't think the controls will suck if they're using the RE4 scheme. That game had the best controls EVER.

whats the issues with creating a sense of urgency? I think Dead Rising's save system created a bit of tension. You know where all the save stalls are; the maps tells you so. So you just have to survive and make it to the bathrooms.

I did have a problem with the 72 hour limitation. It doesn't give you much opportunity to explore. But i guess it was to force you to replay and try different things on subsequent play through. I don't know - the Wii version has some cool ideas but without hordes of Zombies I'm not sure I see the the point.

I'm with you Edge Of Blade. I found no issues with the save system as it enhanced the game style. Its funny, you don't hear people complaining about RE 4's station to station saves...whiners.

Game looks good for Wii, but I think it needs even more zombies, a couple dozens more perhaps.

It seems to be so different that it warrents another purchase imo. All that remains to be seen is if the quality is there, and if it is I'll pick it up.

Glad that they shared the game, but I can't see playing this instead of the 360 version. Now a PS3 one... I'm game for that.

I'm also on the save system wasn't broken wagon. I also enjoyed the time limit. People are always complaining about choices having no baring on games these days. Well with the system they had they certainly did have effects. Unless you had a flawlessly thought out and executed plan, you simply weren't going to do everything in one run through. This forced you to make decisions on who was going to live and who was going to die. Apparently gamers don't actually want choices with consequences, not negative ones anyway.
