Dead Rising 2 trailer in which Chuck wears a moose head photo

Heads up, today is the day when all of the embargo on all of the coverage out of Capcom's CAPTIVATE event is up. Fortunately for you, someone has decided to break embargo early, so here we have a new and extended Dead Rising 2 trailer.

It's awesome, for sure. But it doesn't tell us too much about the game, which looks to essentially be the original Dead Rising with a new character (Chuck Greene) in a casino setting. Chuck beats zombies with a roulette table, a guitar, and rides a motorcycle with two chainsaws attached to it through a crowd of zombie. Also, he wears some kind of moose head. Awesome? We'd say so. 

Fans of the first game will recognize some of the elements shown (like the zombie kill count and the sound effects), which should be comforting. But we'll have to wait until a little later today to get the finer details on Dead Rising 2, as those who attended CAPTIVATE will start to spill their guts.

I wonder if this game will let you play the guitar after killing a certain number of zombies with it, like Rock 'n' Roll Climber.

Looks mindlessly fantastic. And even though I really didn't care too much about the plot in the first game, I wanna know who Chuck is and why he's there. Is he another reporter? Vacation gone wrong? I'm slightly curious.

The main character should be a Mixed Martial Arts fighter, I'd like to see him counter a zombie's grasp on him with an armbar or something. Since a zombie can't tap out he'd just pull on the arm until it ripped off and then he could use the arm as a weapon and beat enemies to death with it.

Well im interested for sure the original Dead Rising was one of the big reasons that i wanted to buy an xbox 360 in the first place so of course im excited.I also like the idea of a new bigger play area and possible weapon creation like the chainsaw staff and not to mention CHAINSAWS ON A MOTORCYCLE!!!!!!

Not nearly enough love for the FUCKING DOUBLE SIDED CHAINSAW STAFF!! That was brilliant. As is the chainsawcycle.

Never played the first one as I suck at video games. But this trailer got me pumped for DR2. I'll get the PC version so I can use chea... I mean, so I can play it completely fairly!!

Is it just me, or was all of that about as obnoxious as the convicts in the first one? I mean, I'm a fan of these Romero-style staggering undead, but all the over-the-top killing is feeling a little more like Dead Alive or Return of the Living Dead to me (don't get me wrong, those are great movies, but they aren't my idea of 'canon'). I'm just really picky about zombies, though. And I'm sounding pretty pretentious and condescending, I know. But I'm still going to buy this for fucking sure.

Andycadaver, in the first one you could ram a shower head into a zombie's skull and make fountains of blood pour out. So...this sort of thing seems like par for the course. There's just a goofy vibe going on under the surface of these games.

The thing I hate about trailers like this is they use awesome dynamic camera angles to make everything look so amazing, then when you actually play the game, it feels much worse.

That said, the moose head is my new favorite power-up. Genius.

Whatever doubts I had regarding a Dead Rising sequel (the few that there were to begin with) were instantly quelled by the double chainsaw staff.

The moose head thing is incredible and hilarious. Chuck may not have covered wars, but he's certainly the MacGyver of his time.

I want a moose head covered in bloody zombie tissue.
I want a staff with dual chainsaws in an all you can eat buffet line...then imagine myself eating bloody zombie bacon bits at the salad bar.
I want a dirt bike with chainsaws attached to the handlebars because that is the logical evolution from multicolored streamers.
I want this game.
