It's out today.

Also a "Hmm, hmm, hmm perfect..." for being able to cross dress yet again, even in the XBLA game. I like to look pretty when I maim the undead. XD
Fixed it for you.
P.S. I hope there's only one save file again.
Normally I'm not a huge exclusives fan (I purchased all 3 for that reason even though I prefer the xbox) however, my understanding is that this prologue is a alledgedly a bridge between the original and sequel. If that's the case, it sort of makes sense since many of the PS3 only folks never got to experience the original. But still, it's not like the story is all that deep. So they could've s still released it. It was probably a way forthe debs to show that while they went multiplatform they still appreciate their fan - and charge for the privilege (that or MS's deep pockets)
But it works both ways. Dead Space 2 is being released as an exclusive special edition for the PS3 that includeds an extra game for the same price. I know which I'm getting.
Anyway Case Zero is a fun little primer and has got me excited about the retail release.
@used: Three save files this time around, but you can still do the whole 'restart with your saved XP' thing.
Well i guess the Dead Space 2 deal is a good one for the PS3 owners like myself. But like i said, these 360 exclusivity deprives gamers
Well Leon, if you're talking about PS3 exclusives, they're usually done by the 1st party developers, so its hard to make it un-exclusive? LOL. Besides, the 1st party exclusives on the PS3 play up to the system's strengths, that may or may not be emulated by other consoles without taking a hit on performance or to be compromised on quality.
The game is otherwise not really that challenging, because the real threats are the psychos, and they're not really something you come across too often or sometimes too easily. The zombies are more or less just an obstacle for you to work through or around, and having a timer adds to the urgency of the whole scenario.
I'm glad for the timer, the only thing I hated about the first was the horrible AI for the survivors. Granted, I did take it as a bit of a nod to the way people would stupidly die in so many horror and zombie flicks (like "let's all split up with only one flashlight among us inside of a dark area!"), but it's probably not good when half the time, the survivors die because you got too frustrated with trying to herd them to safety and instead killed them.
In a variety of ways, each more demented than the last.
I was being sarcastic. If microsoft paid for exclusive then it is fair, its not like capcom are being biased.
I think in this particular instance it was Capcon fan service and it sucks for ps3 only owners.
Th game is fun. However people expecting cutting edge animations and graphics will be dissapointed. This games is about killing zombies in the freshest ways possible. No award winning story here. Just good zombie killing fun.
What bust my balls about the first was how completely unfree of a free roam game that it was. Hell the one mission I failed on didn't even specify that I had to complete the task before the bar ran out.....even though for every other mission that meant it needed to be Initiated.
That's fucking bad game design, and that's not even mentioning the controls.
And while you could look at it as Capcom milking us out of content that could have been included on disc or making us pay for a glorified demo, I do think the $5 price is reasonable as long as there's an adequate amount of play time. Somehow I think that if this prequel does well, it's the first of many that we'll see - especially from Capcom.
The reason some people find the timer unappealing varies but in my personal experience it wasn't the campaign being timed so much as it was that you were required to get to certain areas to trigger events that would otherwise be missed indefinitely for that run of the game. Often times people would simply die if you weren't in the right place before a certain dead line. Which in turn, affected your games ending. Luckily, you can somewhat bypass that in DR2 but still. I enjoy taking in the sights while I play, and I've never personally found having to rush anywhere in any game fun. Well, except for Mario Kart, but that was mostly about the turtle shells than racing for me. XD
As for those who have yet to buy the game. It's a dirt cheap Dead Rising 2 prequel that lets you level up your character/unlock stuff prior to the game coming out that will transfer over to DR2. If that isn't enough for you to get it then it's simply not your kind of game.
Run out of time and it's a game over.
"If i read the reviews on the other sites right, Case Zero has a 2 hour time limit. Uh-oh. It sounds like a demo. Has Microsoft paid exclusivity on a paid demo?"
You clearly don't understand how Dead Rising games work.
That's true. I did say i'm basing it on what i read not what i've played. :D
I do get a sense of hostility from you against me. C'mon. Let's not argue or bicker. I didn't start any trouble, so we should talk in mutual respect to one another as gamers.
Not trying to disrespect you, just calling you out on misstatements, whether they're intentional or not.
I do have an honest question for you: have you ever even played a 360? Been in the same room with one? Known anyone who has owned one? (OK, that's three questions.) I only ask because I happen to own and play both consoles and can appreciate the strengths and weaknesses of each (though I prefer my 360), which you obviously aren't attempting to do in the least.
Seriously, click here and re-read through your comment history. It's a little creepy, dude, especially when you consider the fact that you just signed up for your account yesterday...
Well, i don't have a 360 nor do i know anyone who does. Most of us are PS3 gamers. Which i think you can tell i am too. Haha.
Regardless if i just signed up, does that mean i am under some sort of scrutiny that new comers are automatically trouble makers? I think we are all adults here. No one is here to cause problems. We're here to discuss about games. :)
I'm not above apologizing or saying that i am wrong. We can learn from one another.
I'm not saying you need to apologize, I'm just pointing out the fact that you're coming on a bit strong. Seriously, you've posted more in the last two days than most people do in a month, and it's all been pro-PS3/anti-MS, so of course you're going to ruffle a few feathers and receive more than a few accusations of fanboyism/bias.
But hey, it's all good. At least you're good-natured about the whole thing.
