Hilarious how that became, "You will be charged 400 MS points for this purchase."
I was seriously going to get this game, now I am too offended. What a bunch of cash grabbing fools.
And people wonder why I stopped buying Capcom products months ago...
All parties involved with the success of this kind of thing share the blame, for sure.
In any case, I was just talking to a friend of mine about how badly I miss cheat codes. Moves like this don't surprise me, publishers have been actively monetizing as many aspects of their existing product as they can for years now. As long as we continue to allow publishers to make more money on the same product, they will continue their march to a fully monetized gaming experience, where every aspect of a complete game is broken apart and sold individually to maximize profits.
By guess who? EA!
There ARE still games out there that do cheat codes though. I believe the new Twisted Metal will have cheat codes.
And if its just silly entertaining cheats like big heads or w/e... i dnt mind that as dlc... but 400 points is a bit pricy. Might blow a spare 20-50 points on it if i was bored.

I'll go ahead and blame publishers and fans who support this. Not just one or the other. Want to make it up Capcom? How bout spending some money on another (GOOD) Breath of Fire game. No? You'd rather fund shit like this? Fair enough, I'd rather play other games.
I'm all for supporting the industry but dammit there's a line as to what I'm willing to tolerate and this crossed it.
Fucking cheat codes as dlc, seriously?
First Bioware sells side quests and now Capcom with cheat codes.
I hope Nintendo doesn't let third parties run wild with this garbage on Wii U, I'd like at least one place where games can still be pure games.
Except there's a huge difference between "making money" and being assholes. This is basically abuse of their fanbase. Sorry, but I really don't trust the majority of people playing games to notice "Hey, this should have been in the game anyways, why do they want me paying extra for it?"
I'm not going to buy the cheat pack, I just don't see this as a huge deal.
Also, didn't Crackdown sell an entire package of cheats after it came out? I definitely don't remember people raging about that.
@Abnegation: and that is the problem. People not caring, so they will continue to do it. Ever hear that saying - " First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me."
Its what is happening now. Its not a big deal because it doesn't directly effect you. But leaving something like this go, will only pave the road for more and more features to be aftermarket dlc, while still paying the $50-$60+ to purchase the disc
I've joked before that the next version of Street Fighter will make you pay for special moves so Ryu can throw a hadouken. The more and more I see with the current game industry, the more and more I see this becoming reality, instead of a stupid joke.
Capcom, who used to be one of the greatest companies for creating videogames, now seems to be leading this assault on the same people who have supported them since the Nintendo era.
It's a sad day when innovation is pushed out of the way for copy and paste gameplay and quick money.
Thank goodness for Indie games.
