For the truly zombie-obsessed, Capcom has a downloadable content pack due out on October 25 for Dead Rising 2: Off the Record which turns Frank into a cyborg. Y'all like cyborgs, don't you? The benefits of this $1.99 (160 Microsoft Points) add-on aren't merely cosmetic:
- Electricity damage added to all regular attacks
- Increased overall damage on melee attacks
- Increased damage output and magnified electric effects with electrical appliances
This is planned for PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360. In related news, the standalone Dead Rising 2 titles Case West and Case Zero are going to be offered at half price for Xbox Live Gold members starting next Tuesday. The latter is definitely worth trying if you're new to the series.

Seriously, capcom missed out on a HUGE opportunity by not making modding easier for people in Dead Rising. The game IS moddable thanks to some hardworking folks, but the game practically screams "mod me" and would have been great if there was an official editor.
Yea, because releasing copies of the same game with more content is something they started with Street Fighter 4!

The later is also worth trying if your going to be smart and save some money by buying the original Dead Rising 2 for $20 (or lower, for used, considering Capcom doesn't do online pass -yet) instead of the "should have just been multiple DLCs", Off The Record, at $40. This way you can get a head start and accumulate some levels before you even start the main game -something you can't do with Off The Record.
And if you're a Best Buy gamer club member, there was a $10 coupon for Off the Record in the October issue.
