I played about 5-6 hours of Dead Island over the Holidays and liked it enough but it felt a little off. The fetch quests didn't seem as urgent (or beneficial to survival) as I expected. I had to give the game back to my cousin after x-mas but haven't given any thought to buying it myself.
THIS on the other hand looks pretty promising. I think maybe the focus on story (although pretty cliche in its own right) is what is needed to speed things along. This is an Add-on DLC or stand alone like InFamous Festival of Blood?

DLC though see this kInd of stuff I wish ea standalone. IMO make the standalone 15 bucks and 10 bucks if you own the game. Everyone would win that way and it's a way to get a chunk of money without trying to do dumb codes in used games.

I had a lot of fun with Dead Island, but near the end playing became a chore that I just wanted to get it over with. DLC is not something Id buy, lol.
I thought Dead Island was an excellent first RPG of its kind (zombie RPG). This DLC looks great. Nice trailer.

Does "Single player" mean only single player? As in, I can't enjoy the one thing that made Dead Island a fun game instead of soul-crushingly bad: the co-op?

Any way, just picked up the game from Amazon for half off the other day and am waiting on it to get to my house. Can't wait to play it, even if the story ends up a little weak.

I agree with your Engrish, but I don't see how they'd be able to tell you have the game in order to give you a discount unless they'd impose some sort of EA Server-like DRM sorta deal with every game that logs your playtime.

i wish i got to try this with buddies online. cause playing it alone got boring REAL fast. same go back and forth fetch quests. powers didnt seem to "fun" and i HATE auto leveling enemies. it makes me feel like im not even getting more powerful. whats the point of having buffs and levels up if everything just gets stronger with you?

I think there is a way (at least on PC) to turn off auto-level. Don't quote me on that one, but otherwise I agree. The game is fun, and I will definitely get around to beating it someday, but it would have been nice to play with some buddies.
This DLC looks more like the kind of game I wish it would of been where the main character actually has a story and matters. The standard characters are just so cardboard thin. Hell give me a mission, just one mission where it is influenced by the character I am playing and I will be happier.
