I doubt we'll see a huge improvement, but I'm sure we'll see at least some form(s) of improvement.
I'm somewhat hyped.
So yea...
No doubt we'll continue to see a large number of $60 games, but, until inflation actually justifies that price, many would-be gamers will simply find other hobbies.
Yeah it kind of sucks, but it's definitely better than nothing, and all it takes is someone to set a successful precedent before it can get better. Just like some game companies are trying to slowly and slowly push prices higher so we are weened onto them, it's nice that the dead island team is taking the first step in the opposite direction. If this game is more successful than the previous title and is 10 dollars cheaper, maybe other developers will take notice (probably not Capcom or EA, but some smaller devs)
"blah blah new games are $60 though"
this is the same engine and just new missions/areas/etc..
shouldn't be this high at all.
Got any screenshots? I mean you can see into the future and already played it apparently.
@Jinx
It was on sale 3 weeks ago at 11.99 on steam.
Tell that to Sony in regards to how expensive all their past-gen shit is. Like PSP titles. When they gunna mark that shit down?
In my opinion, the story was crap. And the characters might as well have been mannequins with to-do lists taped on their faces.
I think you played a different game dude. In terms of game play machnics dead island was a far deeper experience, flawed? Yes but still really really rewarding worth picking up for like $10
Also, WHODO YO VOODOO 2 BREAKING INTO: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO, BITCH?
"this is the same engine and just new missions/areas/etc.."
this could be said of most games made in the last 10 years, the biggest and most popular especially.
While I agree that they mishandled the campaign and promised an emotional experience that they did not deliver, I can't say the game is completely without merit. I think it's worth playing, even with the overburdened backlog of games I have these days.
Either way, happy to hear this is actually a sequel, instead of some odd, backwards, expansionary thing.. I'll be looking forward to it, I just hope the game doesn't get bogged down (or as buggy...) late in the game, like the first one did.. Game just dragged on, and then the glitches made it a pain in the ass to finish.
I also hope they make it more mod friendly. That is one of the main things holding the original back.
