11 euro is a definite steal, I already have the game but I'll buy it for my brother instead so we can do some zombie killing together.
Okay after some internet snooping I found out that "GameCritics.com" a website I think most of us never heard of named it their GOTY. So it technically won, but it seems sneaky to say so.
Without us noticing, the Game of the Year moniker has become a cheaper more complete version of an old game.
What we've learned from all this is to wait for the inevitable re-release instead of buying the game on release day.

Who cares if its actually GOTY or not. Its an excuse to sell bundled content at a cheaper price than the game itself, and in the console market of $60+DLC, this is nothing to be chastised.

Its a great game, warts and all. Game of the Year? Maybe one of those kinda off years where nothing too amazing came out. Still though, worth playing. Makes my chartreuse mind bulge with thoughts of what a sequel could do and get right.

Yeah, it was patched decently. You still have to tweak some things yourself for the PC version since there are still some problems.

Yes, probably Halloween or Winter sale could have it for $20/15... when you can get it on steam with all that DLC for $20 now.

Well, they're not lying, technically. ONE website gave the game its GOTY award, and as such Deep Silver can exploit that claim. So you can't really get mad at them; take it up with the people who gave their game the award.
I guess it doesn't matter if actually won any game of the year awards or not, but it is kind of frustrated being marketed to like that this.
It's officially a backlog game for me. Remember when the trailer came out and everyone thought it was gonna be the second coming of Shakespeare in drag?

I loved the shit out of this for $59.99 so if you don't own it this is a steal. It was my GOTY last year along with Dark Souls.
Dead Island TOTY Edition. Trailer of the Year. I do want to play this at some point though, looks fun enough!
I picked it up for $30, beat it, and traded it in for $20. I'd totally buy it again for $30 w/ all the DLC included. The game is really good. Definitely worth it.

If the GOTY is going to be 29.99, then it is the same as the regular price of the current game.
Thus when the GOTY edition inevitably also goes on sale it will be even cheaper than Dead Island is right now, and if you already waited a whole year to get Dead Island then surely you can wait a few months more

Best game about zombies from a "realism" perspective. Except for the fact that weapons break TOO DAMNED EASY.
Glitcher Of The Year?... It was a cool game, if i didnt have to restart half of the missions i saved before i last played, everytime i played it.
The game does have an 80 on Metacritic, and despite the bugs a lot of people seemed to really like it.
This game was my game of the year.

How hard is it to call it "Dead Island: The Complete edition" like mortal kombat. But game of the year sounds so important. You have so many game of the year editions out now it's ridiculous. I know AC III will get one for Europe like AC rev had I think. It happens to all of them, that's why I'm getting AC III day 1 because it won't have that for NA. Never buying a game day 1 though. My heart just jumped because I bought FFXIII-2 for $30 and some DLC. Then I thought wait, that wasn't a bargain... they'll probably come out with a GOTY edition! dammit!
