The first sniff of a Dead Island sequel may have wafted our way, with news that Polish developer Techland recently trademarked a new game name, Dead World. That's like an Island but bigger!
No official announcement of a sequel has surfaced, but Dead Island is said to have performed admirably at retail, which certainly ought to encourage one. Dead World would certainly be a fitting name for a larger, more ambitious sequel, although I hope Techland can keep a lid on the bugs if it's going to expand the scope of the game.
In any case, we'll have to sit tight and see what happens. I'm looking forward to seeing what gets announced!

Loved every minute.
Still refuse to lend or trade it cause I want to play it again, but battlefield, dark souls and soon skyrim won't let me!
But isn't a whole world a bit too ambitious this early for Techland?

You get better weapons and can attach status effect to them, but unfortunately that's about all that really changes other than the scenery.

1.) Allow us to design our own characters. Using one of 4 pre-made characters is bullshit. You could even re-use the same skeletons/animations (so the visual weapons won't be a chore) and I'd be happy.
2.) Please do some severe QA, at least a month's worth, before it's out on the market. Thanks!
