A few months ago, a video was released called Haloid that brought together Halo and Metroid into an all out battle to the death. Today, montyoum is back with his latest epic masterpiece called Dead Fantasy 1.
Dead Fantasy 1 mashes up the Final Fantasy universe with the Dead or Alive universe. The movie starts off with Yuna running away from Kasumi and Ayane until they finally catch up to Yuna and start battling it out. Rikku comes in soon after and everything is looking good for the Final Fantasy girls until Hitomi jumps into the fight to back up Kasumi and Ayane. Yuna and Rikku also get another girl to fight along side of them, but it's not who you expect it to be ...
You'll notice a few things about this video compared to Haloid. First, the characters look a hell of a lot better animation and character design wise. Second, yes, more Matrix music is used (Is that so bad though?). Third, this is only part 1 and no telling when part two will come out. Montyoum is saying that part 2 will be far greater than this so we'll just have to sit and wait for the next part. Until then, enjoy this awesome video.
I cannot deny the skill that goes into the making of these videos, but the blatant disregard of the characters as having personalities really bother me. At least Samus is not the victim this time. That hurt me on the inside.
Jeszy Creezy that was awesome. Somebody give that guy a job as an animator, I think he deserves it. The fighting is cleverly choreographed, you hardly see anything that good out of Hollywood anymore.
Apparently I missed this thing called "Haloid" the first time around, so I watched that, and it too was spectacularly awesome, but I thought the Spartan was Master Chief until the armor came off. Then I realized it's the chick Spartan from Dead or Alive 4 (maybe...), given all the martial arts moves, it makes more sense than run-and-gun Master Chief John-117.
what's the point of even having guns if you're such a bad shot? that girl needs to commit to another primary weapon. PS I only watched the first 10 seconds or so.
Hell, given the DOA connection between both Haloid and this one, I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see Nicole and/or Samus show up in the second part of this new one. It'd make as much sense as any of the rest of it. *shrug*
She actually hits them with the gun later on. It's just that she's using one of those sissy guns that only annoys the target rather than doing any real damage.
Animation and camera work wise, this is average (although pretty damn good for someone who's apparently self trained), but the choreography itself is great. If he did story boards I'm sure there pretty awesome. I felt like the combat was alot more creative in the haloid one then this one though. looking forward to part 2.
All I gotta say, is that this guy should be involved in the production of video game movies, if only for fight choreography. I mean, fuck. That right there, by itself, excluding it's part 2 to come and haloid, is damn near more pleasing than the culmination of the best of scenes of every video game movie ever made.
