Relic Entertainment’s Dawn of War II has a multiplayer component, but we’re guessing you already knew that. The video above walks viewers through character selection and provides an excellent glimpse of the many of the gameplay elements involved in competitive play.

Despite a campaign that features only the Blood Ravens, it is quite plain that the other races in the game are open for multiplayer. If you can look past the ridiculously big explosions (get ready for splash damage), you’ll notice that the player can represent all the races in the game -- the Eldar, Tyranids, Orcs and Human factions. Also, the tanks are bigger.

Visually, the Dawn of War II is far superior to what I originally anticipated. Hopefully, THQ will play nice and not require us to buy thousands of dollars of upgrades just to check this out when it hits early next year.

Why do destructoid videos all have ball-suck quality and stretched aspect ratios?

Tyranids are in it.
But are they playable?

How can people get excited over a video like that?

I guess the 20 people in the world that know exactly what's going on in there are wetting themselves?

This might be able to hold me over until SC 2 is released. Assuming, of course, this is coming out in the near future.

I mean, shit, SC is basically a ripoff of Warhammer 40k to begin with. (Although SC is a superior game to pretty much all the Warhammer games)

Better music, better graphics and what appears to be a generally spectacular experience. It'll be interesting to see how the single player functions, but from the looks of things the multi-player looks like a blast.

Nice. About time we got to play the bugs. The single-player campaign for them, if they have one, should be pretty freaky, because there aren't any individuals in the Tyranids.

Still, I'll miss Chaos. Hopefully they'll be in the next expansion.

@Toiletduck

Where do you get off saying it cost thousands of dollars for upgrades when most high end video cards that will run this game at full detail will only run you $150? Oh and lets say maybe you want a faster cpu, another $50-75. maybe another gig of ram? $25. So for what the cost of a 360 pro to upgrade your computer? Yah thousands of dollars. You don't need top of the line alienware equipment to play pc games. I last updated my computer 2 years ago and it can still play all new pc games at full detail, I don't plan on having to upgrade for possibly another 2 if that.
