Dawn of War II: Chaos Rising gets a release date photo

Eager to send your ravening horde from the Warp? Does your chainsword thirst for vengeance in the name of Horus? The wait is almost over! The new standalone expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II has been given a release date of March 11, 2010. Hooray!

Chaos Rising is set after the events of the main campaign and brings new wargear, units, maps and missions, as well as an increased level cap of thirty. A new "corruption" system will be introduced and the stars of the show, the Chaos Space Marines, will be playable. Damn right!

Europe gets the expansion the day after North America with a March 12 release date. It still needs more Thousand Sons.

Dawn of War 2 is cool but I highly prefer the expansion plenty prequel. I need me some more races for galatic annihilation!

All that's required to take Dawn of War 2 from "great" to "f-n' amazing" for me is the Tau and a Librarian commander for the Space Marines. Still, though, I'll take any addition I can get, even the foul, tainted Chaos.

The Emperor is pleased by this news, as we may finally have the chance to purge the universe of heresy once and for all.

ok, i don't even effing get it. in my opinion, what this dow2 needs isn't more stuff for me to burn out on in single player, stop touting that around, its annoying.

what the game needs is an effing robust multiplayer, the current one is alright. hate to follow the crowd but if you got rid of GFWL it'd be MUCH better (granted, GFWL is pretty sleek, well, it's better than what i had expected)

i mean, i'm just as much excited for this game as the next guy, but really? it seems to be that the single player is all the hullabaloo this expansion can generate, and it's... wrong to me. i want to hear about what cool things you've done in multiplayer, what new units i'll get, uhhh i dont effing know, really anything that enriches the multiplayer (read: LONGEVITY of the game) experience.

@ Stilzkin

Believe it or not most gamers play singleplayer. Also, the singleplayer was the stand-out mode in DoW2.

Stiltzkin:

I'm with StingingVelvet. I'm only early on in the game but I am quite enjoying the single-player. When I tried the multiplayer it felt like any other RTS with the same old stuff, albeit with a Warhammer 40K flavor. I was disappointed by that.

I like DoW because it's different from the usual "build, attack, build attack" plodding RTS. Felt more like a strategy RPG. The multi does not.
