David Jaffe kicked off PAX Prime 2011 this year and his keynote address was simply mesmerizing. Here's a man who has done amazing things in the videogame industry bearing it all, including all the hardships that's come with the job.

David spent an hour describing everything from how he first started in the gaming industry to how he felt he was losing his touch. He also cussed a lot, which I f*cking loved.

If you don't have an hour to spare watching this video, here are the main take-away lessons:

Listen well to your muse or else it gives you the silent treatment.

Don't try to be great, doing what one has a passion and talent for takes care of that.
Trying to be great is a great way to fail.

'Great game play travels'.

Dave Jaffe has a vagina, apparently.

Dicks are everywhere.

Video games.

I watched the whole thing. It was pretty entertaining.

It seems like everyone saying that Jaffe was a bit too egotistical had a point. I don't blame him entirely. I haven't had that level of success, obviously. But, the point stands that it seemingly got to his head and messed him up a bit for a while.

Next, I can't help but think that most of what he's complaining about in this is his fault for leaving Sony. They gave him the go ahead to build Sony Santa Monica, and he left of his own free will after he made one really successful game. He probably should have stayed longer.

It's basically the story of a guy who tasted success with one game, and then got messed up by it and totally lost his perspective. However, it's an entertaining watch because he's nothing if not honest and open about it.

Also, I find it humorous that his big epiphany is that Rockstar and Bioware games have horrible gameplay. I've only been saying that for like ... ever.

I'm only 18 but still so much of his insight and advice really has resonated with me as an aspiring game designer. My voice has spoken to me and I'm going to do whatever it takes to be the best at what I can be. Jaffe you're a true legend.

I'm not a huge David Jaffe fan, but he did have me pretty engaged during his keynote. You can tell that he's really passionate about what he does, and his passion almost got me interested in the next Twisted Metal game. Almost.

That was amazing honestly I have been a fan of David Jaffe for a long time I mean passion really jumps out at you when he talks about doing what he loves...

I was always putting Twisted metal on my number 1 wishlists for E3 every year since 2005. After seeing this keynote I must say my respect for him only increased and honestly I know it wont sell as much as those big hitters he mentioned. But just cause thats true doesn't mean Twisted Metal doesn't have its place or its fans im glad he is back to doing what he wants to do.(wich is make the kind of games i wanna play)
